The apartment was clean, although lacked basic ustensils, glasses and coffee machine. The property is full of deliquent persons, squatters and smokers 4hat made it quite unpleasant.

We stayed here while trying to depart from Mons after 18 months of working at SHAPE. Due to the COVID-19 situation, things were much different from what we expected and we understand. However, when we first arrived in our room, it was not as clean as we would have liked - there was mold on the shower tile grout, fingerprints all over the entry door, a dead fly stuck to the living room curtain, and grease around the stove top. The kitchen faucet was so loose that we had to hold it with two hands just to change from hot to cold water. Nevertheless, we had Lysol and Clorox cleaner to get rid of the bothersome items we noted. The service from staff was excellent and they tried very hard to accommodate our needs, especially for breakfast since we were so used to having a world of choices at a previous stay - again, the situation precluded much choice of breakfast items. The bed was super comfortable, which was a plus since we stayed 8 days, trying to get a flight out.

Proximity to SHAPE, and walking distance to restaurants. Cleanliness was really lacking, and I am a typical “whatever “ kind of guy as long as the sheets are clean. They were, but not much else was. Also don’t let the A/C make you think you can really cool your room. The lowest setting allowed is 22

Overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The staff wasn’t friendly. The overall decor was very very odd. The room, even for European standards, was cramped and uncomfortable. The paint was peeling off the walls. My door to the adjoining room didn’t lock and the hotel staff refused to change my room. Most things in my room, like hair dryer didn’t work. The furniture was way too big for the space. About the only redeeming qualities are the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The surrounding are wasn’t great either. The cherry on top of this stay- my bill was Wong and the front desk staff refused to correct it and even tried to make me pay for the whole stay event though I paid through hotels.com. It was a total cluster and got quite heated. I thought it was resolved and got my bill and he added extra taxes I had already paid for and breakfast I didn’t eat. At that point I was running too late to argue since it had taken 30 mins to check out. The trip was for work so we didn’t have much choice in hotels but I would avoid this one if you can.

Nice hotel but you need a vehicle if you stay here because it is a fair distance from city centre. Some nice restaurants close to it as well but some are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Soulless lacking ambience and attention to guests
Room was clean and quiet, blackout curtains were a nice bonus, there was no plug sockets near the bed which is expected these days. The mini fridge was also broken and wasn’t cold. The cleaning staff were very friendly and couldn’t do more to help they were lovely people however it’s a shame the same cannot be said for some of the reception staff who were always grumpy and at times just plain rude. The hotel lacks any ambience or areas for guests to relax, it could do with some seating out the front area of the hotel and a lounge or snug area for guests to relax in. There is a seating area in main reception but it’s not comfortable or a nice environment and feels clinical. As there is only one member of staff on both reception and the bar it’s impossible to get drinks at times and if you do have the audacity to want to be served they will have no problem with not hiding their distain for you. Overall it’s ok for one night but I would stay elsewhere for long trips. This isn’t a 4 star hotel by any stretch and there are many better hotels close by in Mons. I changed hotel as quickly as I could.

Comfortable for a short stay
Stayed in basic room, which was small but fine for one person. Very comfortable bed and plenty of fluffy pillows. Heat in room could have been better. Plenty of TV channels including BBC and CNN for English speakers. Shower and towels could have been cleaner. Excellent front desk staff - very helpful and friendly. It would have been handy to have more vending choices than just one machine in the main lobby, especially since the restaurant is only open for breakfast.

Business-style hotel convenient for Mons and SHAPE
The hotel is easy to find, with ample parking space, and is clean and well-maintained throughout. Otherwise it was perfectly comfortable and agreeable. Surprisingly there is no air conditioning, and I imagine the rooms may get hot in summer, even with the fan provided, as the window only opens a little and there is no through draught. The room was a little cramped, with nowhere to open a clam-style suitcase out flat except the floor. The room safe was too small for a wide screen laptop. The €15 charge for breakfast seems excessive, and probably explains why the breakfast room was so empty. The wifi was excellent.

I spent a week here on business. The staff was professional, flexible and very accommodating. The room were clean, the food and bar was outstanding for a small facility. I would high recommend staying here if you are in the Mons area.

Good for 1 or 2 nights for SHAPE related visit.
Staid for 2 nights on a business trip. Hotel rooms smelled of humidity and dampness (similar to that of a gym's locker room). The room layout is what you would expect from a Best Western, bathrooms are big and have real showers/baths. Rooms do not have air-conditioning and have very poor circulation of air despite a tower-fan provided. This might be an issue in the summer. The beds are not real Double beds, they are 2 twins pushed together and "made" to be a double bed (ie. you will fall between them if you sleep in the middle). In regards to the staff, the concierge was very helpful and put me in a different room after I complained about the smell. The new room I was placed in also smelled, but I had to settle. Concierge's supervisor was not very friendly- did not speak to me when speaking to the concierge about my situation and did not acknowledge me in any way (not what I expect from an American Chain hotel). Over all- I would not book this hotel again unless I can secure a room with air-conditioning.
