This hotel has the potential to being fantastic. However, since we were there in July, the heat of the summer, the air conditioning should have worked. It did not. It was nearly impossible to sleep for the four nights we were there. Also, being the summer, it would have been nice if the outdoor pool had water in it.
The Suites had wonderful staff and quite tasty room service. If we asked for anything, we got it. Two problems, however: one, the "Korean style" bedding is a very, very thin futon...actually, it feels more like you're sleeping on a thin comforter, particularly as there are marble floors in the beautiful rooms! Additionally, the hotel is a bit far from most of the tourist stuff in Gyeongju. Still, a pleasant staff and a beautiful room overall...we were very happy to stay here and would again (in a bed!)
"Near to express bus terminal and historical sites"
Alighted at the express bus terminal after taking the bus transfer from Gimhae Airport (@ Busan). The hotel was a mere 1min walk away. There's cafes and outlets of the famous Gyeongju bread nearby.
The tumulus, the start of our leisure walk around the historical sites were only a 15min walk away.
Buses to Yang dong village and Bulguksa can be taken from bus stops 2min walk away.
Room was very spacious and comfortable. We wanted to extend our stay by one night but the popular hotel was fully booked.
Bellus Rose was a lovely peaceful place whose greatest asset is the landlady Mrs Park. The rooms which were cheerful and comfortable, look out onto a pleasant garden with a swimming pool that was wonderful in the hot weather we experienced. It is situated in the Pension Village in the area known as Buk gun Dong. Although out of the main area of the city it is well serviced by the No.700,10 and 11 buses. The Bellus Rose is about a 12 minute walk from the bus stop but Mrs Park will drop you off and pick you up if you want her to. In the same area is a food village with a wide variety of places to eat. Mrs Park speaks English and will help you plan your day, make bookings for you and lend you a bicycle to explore the area on. We spent four most enjoyable days here and highly recommend it.
