Nice space at the top floors a bit basic and strange layout is strange however one good staff member can eclipse ps it was the team member who checked me in five star review excellent service. The other team member after that will ensure failure. Anyway I wil stay again.

My stay occured during Georgetown's biggest convention that left the area,with every hotel room in the area booked for 3 days Feb 13-15). Upon my arrival, I went downstairs to get a meal at the restaraunt and was told that 'they only have french fries'. Had to order a pizza from a pizza hut. The TV only receives 3-channels (all local) and all unwatchable because they were snowy. Internet/Wifi unstable. Stopped working for nearly 4-hours after a rain. And someone mentioned the mosquitoes... yep, as soon as you turn off the lights you are giving blood. A week after my stay and I am still itching with bite bumps. I didn't even sleep the last night there, 3:30am taxi pick up to the airport could not come soon enough. Neighborhood dogs bark at almost anything during the night. If you are staying here.. 1) Bring your own food and drink with you 2) Bring mosquito repellant 3) Bring noise cancellation earplugs

The manager and their employes are very kind. They are checking all the time if you are ok. The neighborhood is ver quit, which is ver important in Guyana, and also the price is good compared with the other hotels.

Very quiet and secluded. Very comfortable.
Staff was very polite and courteous. Very helpful in every way. Very short staffed in dining room. One person serving and delivering food to the rooms while guests are waiting in the dining room to be served. Staff was apologetic but where is the help?

Outstanding very attentive staff
Flight was late so arrived at 3 o'clock in the morning. Staff was expecting me and promptly showed me to my room. No paperwork was required and no hassle. Excellent service and excellent food at the on site restaurant. During my stay someone was always available to help me with local day trips. I booked a few day trips and paid in advance. One trip was cancelled because there were not enough participants. My money was refunded to me before checkout. Room was clean and daily housekeeping was excellent. My only concern was that the air conditioning should have worked better. There was also a large electric fan in the room and I used in constantly. Location is excellent with easy access to everything in Georgetown.

Nightmare
My nightmare started the moment I arrived at this hotel. It was in a run down part of town which raised question about security. The room was filthy and it had a bad odor to it. The air condition was a wall installed unit which was loud and very poor air flow. The carpet was wet like if the shower had leaked all over it. No phone and poor wi-fi which dangled from the electrical outlet.

In regards to location, our hotel is situated in a quiet, residential community on the outskirts of central Georgetown. However, we are a very short distant from the street that never sleeps: Sherriff Street, and within walking distance of some of the best Guyanese and international cuisine, supermarkets, gift shops and the some of the most popular entertainment hot spots in the city. The city center and commercial district are also 5 minutes away by car or taxi. We can also assure you that the other areas highlighted in your review have since been tended to and we are in the current process of enforcing our team to deliver good customer service and upgrading our room amenities. We thank you for your comment and hope that you give us a second chance and decide to stay with us on your next trip to Georgetown.

Very Pleasant Stay
The Kanuku Suites have a certain quaint charm that I found most enjoyable. The staff are extremely engaging and accommodating, always willing to please. The restaurant, although quite basic, serves nicely prepared dishes and its seafood is very well done. The room was completely satisfactory with a dependable air conditioning unit and a large modern bathroom. The décor, with extensive use of local hardwoods, is very appealing. The only minor concern was the rather dated guest computer and no internet access but the front desk staff graciously granted me the use of their laptop. Would definitely stay here again.

Kanuku Suites Hotel was clean, safe, and had a friendly staff. We rented three double rooms. The staff cheerfully stored our luggage for us during a rainforest expedition and everything was accounted for when we returned. We ate at the hotel restaurant, which was pretty good.

I was pleasantly surprise by the hotel. It was located in a safe part of the country. The security staff was friendly and informative. The front desk associate, cleaning staff and the restaurant associates were extremely friendly-at no time did I feel that the hotel did not appreciate my business. Although it is lack some amenities of modern and more pricey hotels; it excels in the polite and professional attitude of the employees.

This is barely a 2 star hotel. Poor beds and general furnishings. Poor sitcom, not a great location. Expensive rooms and food. Couldn't get into my room when I arrived so given a lesser room and hotel would not move me or give a refund.

Comfortable , safe & secure
My stay at this hotel was very comfortable, quiet, safe & secure. All the staff work very hard and were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the on site restaurant was closed which made dinner & evening meals slightly inconvenient to arrange, however staff were on hand to recommend take away meals for delivery. I would certainly recommend the hotel to friends & family.

Overly Priced, Lacks basics.
There are Certain Pros and Cons to this Hotel. The Pros Being * The Hotel is in George Town. That could be good for someone who conducts business in George town and travelers who are there to stay for a bit. * The Hotel is cut off from the busy streets if you want the peace of mind from the bustle of traffic * The food of the hotel is really good. * The rooms come with a fridge, a complimentary bottle of water, microwave, safe and coffee pot. * The staff very friendly and helpful. The Cons being * As the hotel is in George Town which is around 45 mins drive or 1hrs plus in peak traffic hours, be ready to shell out anyway between $ 20 to $30 for a taxi to get to this hotel, I paid $30 one way in short the hotel ended up costing me$60 plus the room cost. * Not all rooms have a phone to make calls to the reception or restaurant moreover there are no elevator, this hotel has ground plus 4 floors so be prepared to walk up and down every time if you need something. I had a room on the 4th floor even though the hotel was next to empty. *The free breakfast is not really free, if you ask for eggs and sausage they charge you for it, the only free is the coffee, juice and toast that is what they term free breakfast. In a nutshell for $106 for a night wasn't justified at all.

Dear Sir We thank you for your comments that were posted on Expedia. 1. You stated that that our rooms are overpriced and below basics. In response to this, we are of the position that our rooms are comparably priced with other hotels in Georgetown of similar quality and standard. Amenities that are in each room include a mini-fridge, microwave oven, telephone, coffee maker, steam iron and ironing board, A/C, fan, personal safe, FREE Wi-Fi internet service, and a television. 2. Pros and Cons: Thank you for the compliments and thank you for choosing to stay at Kanuku Suites. As for the "cons", we do not have any control over the cost of the taxi fare, nor do we have any control of the distance and the time it takes to travel from Cheddi Jagan International Airport to Kanuku Suites. 3. You stated that not all rooms have a telephone. This is not the case. All of our rooms have a phone along with a list of extensions to the various departments such as the bar and front desk. 4. You stated that there is no elevator. This is correct, however, plans are currently in the making to have an elevator installed in the hotel. 5. You stated that our hotel has a ground floor plus four other floors. Our hotel consists of four floors, including the ground floor. 6. You stated that the breakfast is not free. Please let me clarify. When a guest books a room with Kanuku Suites, a continental breakfast is included with each night's stay. However, should a cooked breakfast be ordered an additional cost is charged of US$2.50 7. Finally, you stated that you total cost for a one night stay at our hotel came to a total of $106 US dollars. Unfortunately we cannot comment on this, since the booking is made through Expedia. In closing, we would like to thank you for your "cons", as this can only help us to improve our services and upon your next visit, you would be pleasantly surprise. Woulnt stay there again. I stood the old facilities, but could not endyre the smell of unwashed pillow case. Devastating, it stinked so terrible that i could not sleep well. I resulted in enabling to sleep with the pillow. Besides there were no towels. Unbrelievable, it does nit meet the cost, 90 US dollars,oh my gosh. Furthermore the hotel staffs were unfriendly, and seems have been neglecting in improving services. It is neeedless to say that they did not have any any any HOSPITALITY, at least to me. The worst hotel that i stayed in Guyana. It is worth only 50 dolars, why 90. If 90, they should learn from Durban hotel. They are really smartly running the hotel. The staffs are totally different.

All staff should have courteously welcomed and greeted you upon arrival and for the duration of your stay. We have taken your review very seriously and took this opportunity to learn from it. As a result, we have re-evaluated our staff and hired new personnel to ensure our housekeeping and hotel standards are met and exceeded. In fact, we were able to identify the staff in charge of that room and have dismissed them on account of a thorough performance review. A very comfortable and friendly hotel
The staff members are very helpful and friendly. Just the kitchen service was slow but they tried to do their best. Improvement must be done in terms of realizing about the importance of having INITIATIVE towards the tourists interests but I can say that the warmth and human quality of Guyanese can make you forget about any trouble you get there.

We wisten vooraf niet dat het hotel geen lift heeft. We zijn niet gemeld dat onze kamer op de 3e etage zou zijn, zonder lift. We wisten ook niet dat de airco in onze kamer het zeer matig doet. Ook niet die van de 2e kamer die wij aangeboden kregen. Dat wisten jullie wel getuige de al getroffen voorber van het plaatsen van een ventilator. Vervolgens was de waterdruk bars slecht. En tenslotte pas als je expliciet vraagt wordt je kamer schoon gemaakt. Het moet juist andersom zijn; als je dat niet wil dan pas moet je het expliciet melden. Over de behandeling door het personeel valt niks te klagen; ze waren allen super vriendelijk. Het plezier, de comfort tijdens het verblijf was gewoon slechts

O atendimento é fantástico e o nível de acolhida para estrangeiros nada deixa a desejar. Mesmo falado pouco o inglês, eles não medem esforços para atender da melhor forma. Fiquei encantada , pena que a cidade não oferece muito para entretenimento e os passeios são longe e dispendiosos. Se pudesse citar o nome de alguém, eu citaria da gerente que é uma pessoa fora de série. Recomendo este hotel. Quero também dizer que foi a primeira vez que fiz uma reserva com vocês Hotéis.com e valeu a pena.Terezinha e família

Отель находится в тихом спокойном месте, относительно недалеко от центра города. Удобно для пребывания в рабочих целях. Приветливый персонал. Есть интернет. Минус - неважные завтраки. Отель на четверку.
