Stayed here for four nights, very well priced, comfortable room and bed, free breakfast, air conditioner worked really well and great service in reception and at the banana cafe. The location is really good for the Orangutans, rainforest centre and sun bears, but if you want to go anywhere else taxis will take you for fairly cheap. Don't have anything bad to say about my stay at all :) very enjoyable, definitely reccomend if you're staying in sandakan area of sabah
I arrived at about 11 am on 25/11/14. I was immediately given a check in at Level 11 (booked junior suite). No need to wait until 3 pm. Very happy with staff and environment around the Hotel. My family was very happy. There was also shuttle bus service to the city and was convenient, even the bus driver was friendly and helpful. Had a good time at the pool. Morning buffet was also good.
We loved the hotel and looking forward to come again. And recommended to our friend local and overseas.

The Gaya resort is situated on a beautiful, natural enviroment. The staff can't do enough for you and the hotel is lovely. The food is great and the snorkelling is out of this world. Their are lots of monkeys, lizards and birds to see. There is a little boat to take you to a private beach, where you can have a Thai lunch and look at a small aquarium where they are looking after small turtles before they are realised into the wild.

"Nice location and base for Borneo World Music Fest"
I recently stayed at the Village House during the Borneo World Music Festival 2014, they offered a regular free shuttle service and were very accommodating to our needs. We even had some snacks waiting in the bar at the end of a long night of dancing. The staff were incredible and I would definitely stay there again as it is a good base and a reasonable distance away from the Sarawak Cultural Village where the festival was held.
Rather than stay in a hotel, we thought we'd have a condo apartment with a nice view so we could have a drink on the balcony in the evening overlooking the sea and breakfast in the morning. The first thing to say is that, if you are choosing this apartment for the view, forget it as there is a huge block of appartments being built right in front of it blocking the view completely!
Jack is delightful and very helpful. He organised taxis and advised on places to go and see. I can't fault him or his staff who were all lovely. The appartment is dowdy though and poorly equipped (we had to buy some glasses). It wouldn't take much money to make it really nice but, currently, it has a '60s feel to it (not in a 'retro' way). However, walking around the town and looking at the hotels we could have stayed in, I am happy we chose Jack's Condo.
Everything was very good. Zip line, canopy walk, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming pool, all at same place.
Low point are sand flies. They do not know how to manage. they clean the beach in the morning and spray in the evening, of course is not working. We came back home with dozen of bites. We could not enjoyed the beach because of this. Besides this issues, it is a wonderful place.

The front counter was unassuming, located in a small glass-walled room manned by 2 friendly girls. Check in was super quick. They offered me room service staff to bring our bags to the apartment as our hands were full. The living room was spacious. We could put another family in there. The beds were good: 2 queen beds n 2 single beds. So the kids didnt have to share with each other. The toilet in the 2nd room was a bit dissappointment because it was smelly. The kitchen was clean n well equipped. My kids were happy with the swimming pool.
