I have been staying here off and on for 20 years and I still think it is the best hotel in Kuching - as do the Sarawak State officials. It is a top end business hotel and performs at a good international level. Not particularly cheap but they will look after you. Good quality food but eat locally for the Malaysian experience. Try Top Spot - it's very close. Ask for a river view room - absolutely astounding views of the town and the river.
"Great location, close to airport and national Park"
This was our sixth visit and we have always had great experience. We have felt 'at home' from our first visit, the staff welcome us back and recognise us. The crew at STAR Marina and on Mamutik are just amazing (Ozman and his whole crew).
My wife and I have travelled to many South East Asian destinations and the Nexus resort would be the best by far. Excellent facilities, numerous bars, nightly entertainment, fantastic staff and numerous restaurants that cater for all tastes. Any concerns or problems are immediately tended too. Outstanding resort.
The only thing negative was that we had prebooked a taxi for our trip from the hotel to the airport. The taxi driver the hotel had arranged for us charged more than what we paid for our late night trip from the airport to the hotel.
From the moment we entered the cool lobby are until the moment we left the staff could not have been more helpful. Always ready to assist and with a ready smile. It was a pleasure to stay at the Radisson on our stop overs to and from Australia. Really comfortable bed and lovely linen and towels. The bathroom was small but more than adequate - the shower was good and hot water plentiful - a must in the hot humid Brunei.
We ate at the hotel and the food was good with a wide range of choice for all nationalities. The dining staff were particularly efficient and were able to accommodate us even though there was a large event on that evening.
Next time we will stay for a few days to see more of Brunei. But if you have the opportunity to stay even for one night - this is the hotel for you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt. We are pleased we upgraded to a seaview room, there is always plenty of action on the waterfront. Although the restaurant area is under a major makeover, we were made aware of this when we booked, the restaurant which is still operating was very good, offering buffet and a l carte. The buffet breakfast had a huge selection. We were within walking distance of several shopping malls and markets, and when needed, taxis were always available at the door. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Everything was very good. Zip line, canopy walk, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming pool, all at same place.
Low point are sand flies. They do not know how to manage. they clean the beach in the morning and spray in the evening, of course is not working. We came back home with dozen of bites. We could not enjoyed the beach because of this. Besides this issues, it is a wonderful place.
