We had a great time here. A nice spacious room and bathroom, large bed, we got upgraded to a sea view. The main thing that amazed me was the value for money we experienced. For a 4 star hotel at the rates we got I was really impressed.
The only things that I'd mark the hotel down on are the distance to the beach (it's a 20 minute walk up a hill back from the beach - which is fine at first but by the end of the holiday was a bit of a drag) and the breakfast (and breakfast staff) which was fairly average.
But I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I thought it was great.
Nice and comfortable hotel, very friendly staff. Good location for starting a trips, a litle far the city center (but it does not mather). nice view, free parking and wifi.
Breakfast is not a good choice, you have to stay early morning - later you will be out of salami, cup, water, egg ... The staff do not manage to clean a table from previous guests.
Stayed here for four days and used as a base for Gola Gorrupu and beaches of the Gulf. Hotel pool was fantastic for a break between beach and dinner and the views for breakfast and evening dining were stunning.

"Oasis of calm from which to tour surrounding area."
We collected a car on our arrival into Olbia airport and drove straight to the Santa Maria resort. It is a welcome sight when you do reach it, and an ideal place to unwind for a few days. It has diving facilities nearby so would be a good base if you are a diver. The room was adequate, clean and cool with a well equipped bathroom, no bathtub - which wasn't a problem for us cos we like to shower. We didn't eat in the resort as we were keen to explore local bars, cafes and restaurants, but we saw lots of other guests eating and heard no complaints. Most of the guests tended to disappear soon after breakfast and didnt return until afternoon so if you want somewhere to relax this is an ideal location. (We stayed late September, so can't say how busy it would be in the high season). The resort appeared to be full but it wasn't noisy and we were always able to get a sun lounger by the pool. Very reasonable price for what we got!!!

This was a very handy base to use for discovering the east coast and mountain region of Barbagia in Sardinia. Our apartment was roomy with plenty of storage space, had a balcony to watch the world go by (though don't expect pretty views, you are on the main road down to the beach !!), a separate double bedroom, a reasonably well equipped kitchenette and a very useful washing machine. The well stocked supermarket is literally right opposite, so very handy for getting your own breakfasts and picnics sorted - the beach at Orosei is vast & just a 3-4 minute drive down the road (bit of a trek on foot), so never felt crowded, the sand there is very coarse & we found the sea a little choppy too (mid September) - there are more picturesque beaches. There are a few pizzerias on the same road as Marina Palace, where the food is fine but a little pricey - we found tastier/less expensive options in the prettier square up in the historic/old centre of the town, about 5 mins walk away. Do try some liquorice & myrtle liqueurs and do spend some time in the mountains - also, be patient with the locals, they seem a little frosty & reserved at first but have hearts of gold !!
"A quaint and unobtrusive hotel complex with charm"
The hotel is set amongst the back streets, which can be a bit of a maze until you get to know them. Parking is local, but tight streets mean the car has to be parked a little way away if you are travelling this way. Staff have a handy electric vehicle on hand to whisk you from your car to the room if needed. The hotel complex is over 4 sites in an apartment style and we stayed in one away from the main reception Sa Turre. This was clean and tidy, and no complaints. A short walk for breakfast once you knew the way, built up an appetite and there was plenty to eat.
Bikes and electric bikes are free if you book direct, and are welcome for the trip to the beach where they have their own sectioned off area making it more private.
Staff at the hotel are very accommodating and anxious to please in any way they can.
The hotel is centrally situated to travel from to other local towns, the fantastic gorge, and stunning beaches
On the whole a lovely place which we would have no hesitation to book and visit again

Overall very good, the rooms are good and staff friendly, but I would make the dinner to look more simple like the hotel is. Had an impression that the staff was trying to make it posh, making you feel a bit uncomfortable, where the hotel itself is simple and nice.

Pocket Guide: Costa Smeralda Gulf of Orosei Hotels
This is perhaps the most spectacular gulf on the whole island. Framed by towering cliffs, indented with countless coves, clear, emerald green waters lap long, sandy beaches. In the north, Orosei lies among lush citrus and olive groves. The central Piazza del Popolo is ringed with splendid buildings, including the white-stuccoed church of San Giacomo. Marina di Orosei beach is a long crescent of golden sands fringed by fragrant pines.
