“Very Good Hotel !”
But too expensive.
“Service was excellent, Nice place to stay, good food at restaurant, Needs improved checkout process”
The hotel rooms were well equipped. Shower heads and water pressure was awesome. The pool and Cabana is incredible and spacious. The service throughout the hotel was impeccable. Rooms were very clean and housekeeping performed excellent service. The only downside was the check out process. No predetermined invoice or express check out process. Early morning check out did not provide ample counter service given demand for early departures.
“Too many flaws for a five star hotel”
I decided to stay in the Westin Camino Real in Guatemala because it had won several times the 'best hotel award' in this city. I stayed from Monday November 21 to Saturday 26, 2011. Unfortunately I had paid already the whole week via expedia, otherways I would have left this hotel already the second day. I stay often in five star hotels for work and I am normally not a complainer, but this hotel had just too many flaws: - Both beds in my room were outdated, it was like sleeping in a big hole. I woke up with pain in my back several times... - I had to ask three times for a better (harder) pillow, as the normal pillow are extremely soft.. - Although internet is paid it is extremely slow, especially during the afternoon. It has also a download limit of 8 kb, I believe this is unacceptable as you have to pay more than 10 UDS a day for this service... - The room was still equipped with a very old big television. The channels were unclear and the remote control did not work. I asked several times for somebody to have a look at the control, but never did anybody show up. - The snacks are extremely expensive. a coke for USD4,- and a Snickers for USD4,50..even for a 5 star hotel this is just ridiculous.. - the bus to the airport left 15 minutes later than promised.. - My breakfast was not included in the price.. If you can stay somewhere else do so, this hotel does not offer what a 5 star hotel should... Alberto C
