Great Chef, pity about the rest of the staff.

Pros: Not much.
Cons: If they want tourism, get 'with it'.
Location: I have no idea as there was no information available.
The reception staff have buttons declaring "I speak English". It is true they have a few words of English, but understanding ... none! They have a Concierge, but no information (in English) for tourists. The Malaysian chef is a gem, and we were very happy to have him sit at our table. He was the only person to know about and help my wife who suffers from Coealiac disease with her dietary requirements. When we asked for the name of the chef so we could acknowledge him, they could not understand "chef"! Only when drawing a stick picture of a person holding a tray and a chef's hat that they understood. Would we use them again? NO A tip. Chinese currency is generally not available outside China. To get enough for our 36 hour stay, to get to the hotel by taxi and incidentals we got 500 yuan ($NZ100) from the airport ATM. To cut a long story short, 3 of the 5 100 yuan notes were counterfeit! Extremely good ones, which only the hotel cash checking machine and taxi driver were able to detect. I got to the airport for our next flight in sufficient time to go to the Airport Police to report it. None of th 10 officers in that office were able to understand English, One who had very minimal understanding accompanies us around the vast airport (Guangszhou) to find the ATM without success, and after some time, just walked away from us. We were not happy campers!

You are in Guangzhou what do you expect.

Pros: The room and bed were great. Breakfast was good.
Cons: More international customer focus.
Location: Nice property but not much close by.
The hotel itself was above average. The staff was questionable, not because they were not trying but because they didn't have good training. They took everything literally (rules, hours, menu etc.) which makes sense in china but does not lend itself to customer service. English was very poor by the staff so things like concierge etc. we're not helpful. I would stay there again for work travel but not personal.

This was a good quality hotel and furnishings are new and clean- classy modern style. The receptionists spoke English well and smiled. I would come back to this hotel again.

nice hotel but nothing around to do

nice hotel but the bathroom is not close so for shearing your room with college it's more difficult. mirror every ever too much for me... sometimes they rent the hotel for wedding and you can not eat at the restaurant! you have to order to your room and pay 15% room service...

The hotel is a good value, they provided shuttle service to the canton fair every day and every night they would designate a shuttle to take guests to different parts of the city. The breakfast buffet is great, no complaints at all the variety is really good. My only problem with this hotel was housekeeping. Every day when I arrived at night it seemed like I had to re-clean my room, wash the cups and pick up the trash. On our last night we had an issue were the cleaning lady threw pieces of my wife's new skin massage machine to the trash after I had just paid 300usd for the device. I spoke to the manager in shift whom was very rude and gave me some lame excuses, he said he would contact me in the morning but he never did. As I checked out I asked the new manager about an update on the subject; after all I just spent 300 dollars on a machine that is now useless! but even though I had just heard her speak fluent english with the previous guest, she decided to play stupid with me and I just had to get on the cab and head to the airport. Good hotel but don't leave ANYTHING out as it might get CONFUSED with rubbish and thats not their fault.

Querkie, but good

Beds were very firm, but room was really quite well cared for. Found the art work on the ceiling really hilarious! Took us a while to get used to no windows in the room, but we were okay after awhile. Breakfast was stupid expensive, but I guess they think they were in Hong Kong or something. We stayed at other 5 star places in the nearby cities for half, and it was included in the rate. Cabs are cheap, so insist on the meter! Staff was super! We would however, choose a closer location to where we needed to be the next time around.
