“Moderate mediocrity, surly desk manager”

This hotel is attempting to represent five start standards. If it were managed by a vary competent sales manager it might approach that. However, they Male staff on the desk look at customers as if they are worthy of contempt. Chinese hotels demand a deposit in advance for a room. Unlike five star hotels elsewhere they will not make a copy of your credit card and hold it until your stay is finished. If you complain they will brutally rebuke your concern. The Sales Manager interceded in this instance and vowed to make certain that this policy s put into other Expedia based agreements. However, the poor consumer sensitivity of the Desk Manager ruined what would have been a quality experience. Hopefully Chinese hotels will modernize and adapt to a world where more temperate considerations are applied. Go to the Holiday INN in Guangzhou, the staff is far better trained in how to interact with customers. They appreciate the customer.

Area recommendations
Baiyun Mountain area. Very relaxing and shaded from the heat.

“OK Business hotel. Breakfast not included in price.”

Compare and check hotel price deal. Breakfast not included in this hotel booking. Booked 3 adults & asked for local maps.Only gave 2,said not sufficient copies. Service so so... Mid way between 2 train stations. 10 minutes walk to subway station.

“Will now be my hotel-of-choice in downtown Guangzhou”

An excellent hotel, close the the Garden Hotel and Baiyun Hotel but third or half the price, respectively. Walking distance to two city parks and a Starbucks coffee shop for breakfast. Also close to the old "Kwangchow" Friendship Store and subway station. Free Internet in your room, but very expensive in-hotel breakfast buffet.

“Guangzhou Hotel”

I have stayed here a couple of times now and I will use this as my main hotel choice in Guangzhou. There are fancier hotels in GZ, but this is a good price and reasonable hotel. The rooms are nice, clean, and non-smoking. The hotel is well located for shopping, dining, etc. The airport shuttle is near by (across the street at the Holiday Inn). There are two or 3 Starbucks within walking distance and plenty of other places to visit.

“今回は・・・”

ここは定宿なんですが・・・今回は運が悪かったかな。 まず、エレベーターに最も近い部屋で、うるさかったです。まあ安い料金だから仕方がないかな。 次に、フロントの手際がイマイチでしたね。連泊したのですが、２日目にカード式のルームキー鍵が作動しなくなり、またフロントに降りてチャージ（？）しなおす羽目に。 フロントさんへ。私に応対しているときには、どうか私の仕事に集中してください。ほかの客のの割り込みに取り合ったりしないで。目の前の仕事に集中して、ミスのないように頼みます。

環市東路の便利な所にあります。裏道に入ると、庶民的な食堂や商店もあって便利です。
