“Wonderful Surprise”

“Great value for your money”

I stayed here for four days on a short business trip. The Jianguo's greatest asset is its location -- GZ East Rail Station is two blocks away and the Metro is one block away. It also turned out to be a good location for cab access to my locations in the city. In addition, it is a first class hotel -- the service is superb, breakfast is sumptuous, the facilities are sparkling clean, room service and laundry are quick and efficient, etc. I accidentally left my safe unlocked with my passport and some currency. Housekeeping sent me a polite reminder to be more careful. Thanks.

“Great for English speaking visitors right in the heart of it all with excellent buffet breakfast”

This is the perfect hotel for the visitor wanting a stylish hotel in the heart of Guangzhou. All the staff speak decent English and can provide great ideas and directions about the surrounding Tianhe area. The hotel is located directly oppostie the Metro with a mall that has Starbucks and other Western style dining options for the less adventurous. The buffet breakfast is a great mix of Western & Asian fusion with fruits, cereals, pastries, sushi station, noodle station, European style meats & cheeses and a chef ready to make customized omeletes. DO NOT stay anywhere else - for the price this rivals the other 5 star hotels in the area.

“Best breakfast in China”

I have stayed in many hotels all over China and this by far has been the best. It was very centrally located, with quick access to train and subways. The breakfast buffet was the best that I have had anywhere in Asia.

“China’s 5 star in reality a 3 star at best”

Good location of the hotel could not make up for the condition of the building. The carpets were filthy, bathrooms were dirty and our room overlooked a massive construction site which ran machinery 24/7. Unfortunately our air conditioning unit was not working and we were forced to sleep with our windows open all night long. The buffet breakfast was reasonably good. The staff were friendly enough but there was a serious language barrier.

Area recommendations

This hotel was well located for us as it was just across from the main railway station and bus terminal. It was also within walking distance to several sites.

Getting around

Beware of taxi drivers passing counterfeit money as change. We were caught with this on our arrival in Guangzhou and it is apparently rampant in this city.

“good value hotel”

I am very satified with this hotel, the room is clean and big, service staff is friendly and helpful. The location is convenient too, just beside the subway station and railroad station, easy to go anywhere.
