Very nice hotel, prime location.

The hotel is very pretty. Breakfast was excellent. They don't have parking so you have to leave your car at another hotel far away. There is only one elevator and it broke down while we were there and we had to walk up and down from the fourth floor. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay because of the good service and great location. We would stay there again.

Modern Luxury in the Heart of Guanajuato

Posted 24-Apr-2014
I loved the contrast of both the history and modern feel of the hotel. The rooms are good in size. The pool is very very nice (small but amazing). Our favourite thing was the views from the terrace and the location. You cannot get more central. We would definitely return when we go to Guanajuato again.

LOUD Music until 3:00am.

You know the noise is bad when they routinely provide you with noise ear plugs in the room---and they do not do the job. There was also a sewage sstench in the air inside the hotel the first two days of our four day visit. Most of the times the desk people were good but-- sent an e-mail three weeks before arrival asking about transport to the hotel from the airport which was never responded to a couple of times the desk said they were going to do some minor thing--swhich they simply never did. There are some excellent hotels in Guanajuato---this is not one of them.

Beautiful hotel, great location

The Hotel is located in the center of the city. You can go walking to every point in the city center (although this can be a little noisy if you go early to sleep). Rooms are nicely decorated and everything integrates great with te old building.

Great Staff, Upscale Hotel, Good Food, Tiny Room

Posted 16-Aug-2013 on Hotels.com
I absolutely loved my stay in Edelmira. On most vacation trips to Guanajuato I wouldn't have cared that the room was the size of a shoebox. It's well done and clean. The location is some of the best real estate in the city. However, unfortunately on this trip I needed to get some work done in while traveling. The lack of a desk and chair made it really uncomfortable and slow going to get work done. I did get the smallest room available so maybe others are better. I love it and hope to be back. Just a word of caution if you need to knoch out some work while there. Or go to Cafe Tal and be comfortable and work.

Good location

The hotel is very well located. Guanajuato is not an easy city so the location of your hotel is key. This hotel is in the right area so you are close to museums, bars, cathedral, etc. The roof terrace is fine but lacks a proper bar and we always found it empty. I guess they have failed to make the most of it. The rooms are fine, clean and very comfortable. We found staff helpful and corteous. Overall our experience was good. Would I return to this hotel? Probably yes.

Too small

Posted 11-Mar-2013
Pros: Location and breakfast
Cons: Size of the rooms, noise and the pillows
Location: Great location, close to main "jardin"
Totally overrated! The rooms are too small (If you are a couple travelling with two big bags, you will haver problems inside the tiny room) and there is only one small window facing the corridor. The beds are tiny and the pillows are incredibly unconfortable (bring your own if you are thinking of staying there) Finally, you can hear the noise from the reception as if it was inside the room even if you are sleeping on the third floor. On the other hand, I must say that the location is great and the breakfast was very good as well.
