“CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK..”
THE FOOD WAS PLENTIFUL,NOT LIKE OURS BUT IT SHOULD BE DIFFERENT IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY,WE HAD A GREAT TIME ON TOURS,WHICH CAN BE BOOKED IN THE HOTEL,SO SEEN THE COUNTRY, VOLCANO-OCEAN-RAIN FOREST-OCEAN--MOUNTAINS-OCEAN!!! LOVE IT!
“Most of these reviews are accurate, approach with caution”
This resort wasn't able to come through on some of the things that were advertised. They advertised kayak, snorkling, mountin bikes, watercraft, mopeds but they all had a "catch". The snorkeling and kayaks were not free rentals. You would have to schedule a day in advance for a mediocre one hour tour at a certain time of the day (8am). This was the same for the snorkeling. This was the most disappointing thing because this was one of the main attractions for me. It was NEVER free to go snorkeling or kayaking by yourself. The food was cheap buffet stlye, not satisfying for a resort (many things on this trip lead me to believe that Costa Rican standards are not comparable to US standards). They had another resaurant that gave the appearance that the food quality was better, but only by a little. The ambiance was very nice and it was a good break from the "cafeteria". Another let down was that you were only able to go once. THE SUMMARY If you go you should set your expectations low and be prepared to be surprised by things that arent included in the "all-inclusive". (Don't make local phone calls because you will be billed) I would not reccomend staying in the hotels. If I was to do it again I would have stayed in the Villa's and not paid for the food on resort. On a good ending note, the resort and country side were beautiful. The beaches are nice.
“I plan on another stay in the future”
I have been to Costa Rica many times in the past 8 years, but this was the first time in the Guanacaste area. The Villa Sol Resort was very nice and the accomodations were great from the room to all the fine buffet style meals in the restaurant. There was also plenty to drink and eat at the nice pool with the swim up bar along with the activities.

The villas were big and the view was amazing. The food could have been better.

We stayed in the hotel portion of this resort. Our room was comfortable and seemed to have been recently renovated. Buffet food was pretty good for an all-inclusive, drinks were strong, staff were super friendly, recommend to anyone looking for an affordable all-inclusive resort.
“Perfect Resort for our Honeymoon”
This was our first time to Costa Rica, and the hotel & resort provided the PERFECT atmosphere for relaxation! It was the PERFECT getaway & the weather was great...we enjoyed all of the amenities & especially LOVED the All Inclusive meals & drinks. The balcony view from our hotel room was BREATHTAKING -- BEAUTIFUL sunsets!! We spent a lot of time relaxing on the balcony, looking out at the wonderful view of the bay. And everyday, we took advantage of the delicious food at Villas Sol hotel (La Bahia Restaurant)...it was absolutely AMAZING!
