I have never stayed anywhere where I have felt so one with nature! We spotted an armadillo foraging around behind our cabin, the sounds of the howler monkeys and cicadas at night was so loud and the Pacific Ocean was also rather noisy- but it was so brilliant to hear all these wild sounds and wake up in the most beautiful surroundings. Perfect getaway.
Be prepared to be enchanted! The rough road leads to an amazing hotel with even more amazing people. This was a family vacation with our two older teenage children. From the beginning until the end, it was a vacation of a lifetime. We were greeted in the parking lot by a friendly face who turned out to be our concierge - this was a wonderful surprise! After our long journey, he recognized that we were hungry, and so he escorted us to the restaurant for a relaxing lunch and complimentary drink - oh, by the way, he checked us in as we gazed over the beautiful ocean view. The next trip was to our 3 bedroom villa that I can only say was amazing. The kids wondered if we had become rock stars since we left the States... yes, it was that amazing. The 1st night we thought we heard a gorilla... turned out to be a howler monkey - a veryLOUD howler monkey. By the end of our 1st day, our teenage son declared that he would have to stop saying everything was amazing because, well, everything was amazing! Our trip was filled with encounters with a truly caring and courteous hotel staff, first class food and accommodations, views to die for, wildlife sights and sounds from National Geographic, and did I mention the amazing people? We would return to Punta Islita in a heartbeat, and we actually discussed the need to start playing the lottery with the hope of returning to beautiful Costa Rica sooner vs. later. It is truly PURA VIDA!
This stop on my 2 week trip in Costa Rica was the highlight! From the staff being extremely helpful to the villas being above any expectations I could of had! The gardeners and room service crew looked happy, the 2 cooks Mario and Maria made amazing food and the concierge were always around making sure we were happy no matter what! I am going back to Costa Rica and I am definitely coming back to Latitude 10!!!
The quality of the hotel, its food and facilities are all excellent. The birds, howler monkeys and other wildlife in the grounds of the hotel inject an element of magic to one's stay. Our only criticism is that the wine is not stored well (this may be difficult to achieve in a rain forest).
Located on seven acres of white sand beach surrounded by world class surf, hidden among the beach almond and plumeria trees …More
Great staff, perfect location, prompt response to any problems we encountered. Gelati shop, monkeys sighted, friendly locals. 90 minute yoga classes mon/wed/fri for only $12, on site and by the ocean! Surf shop on site. Beautiful sunsets. Excellent food, dinners large enough to share. Only 90 minutes from Liberia airport by taxi.
They made my vacation a great experience. They have done fantastic job in the middle of nature.
Daily yoga and their Spa much beyondy expectation.
For food could not ask for more , fresh , delicious, and reasonable price and good service.
Definitely my next trip to Costa Rica will stay at the same hotel.
We chose Hotel Tropico Latino for our honeymoon stay in Santa Teresa, and it was gorgeous. We went with the beach bungalow, which I would highly recommend for anyone who's looking for some quiet privacy with a personal hammock and a very nearby beach. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food at the hotel restaurant is pricey but really delicious and worth trying at least once. I loved that you could have drinks brought to you right on the beach all afternoon. And the beach is mostly sandy with very few rocky parts - a lot of strong waves, though, and great for surfing if you're into it. While in itself being very private and relaxing, the hotel's location is conveniently located along the same road as many local sodas, bars and supermarkets, and it is also easy to rent an ATV and take a day trip to see Montezuma Falls. We also used a local tour agency to take a day trip to Tortuga Island for snorkeling, and went horseback riding at a nearby ranch. So, there's tons to see and do, and yet the option to absolutely do nothing and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the warm ocean breeze. I would highly, highly recommend it, and hope to get back there again someday!
