Expected Better

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: cleanliness of the bathrooms.
Location: Hilton is in a nice location. It is not to close to the main hotels or restaurants, which separates you from the noise and hustle and bustle of Tumon
The Hilton brand brings to mind luxurious comfort. With luxury also comes the notion of spacious rooms, comfortable beds, plush pillows, and above all clean room. The fa├žade evoked expectations that were dashed when I saw the condition of the bathroom. The shower had black stains in the calking and the sink's rim - the calking too was stained with what I assume was grime and mold. The air-conditioner in the room was also source of frustration - it was so loud. I could not hear the TV or talk on the phone unless I turned the air-conditioner off. Before going to sleep at night I would shut the system off in order to fall asleep. Overall experience however was not bad.

Not so impressed

Posted 21-Nov-2014
Pros: Just the surroundings
Cons: At least give free WIFI to the guests, geez!
Location: Close enough to most major locations/shopping/airport
I'm not sure why I was expecting bellhop service, free WIFI, and friendlier accommodations. You really have to wait until 3PM exact to check in; I had to ask for the rolling cart to get my luggage upstairs and pushed it myself all the way up to the 9th floor, we didn't get the King-sized bed we wanted and instead had 2 twin sized ones, and we couldn't even use the refrigerator because there was a plastic ring around the handle warning us we'll be charged for the mini bar if we break it. I got friendlier service at smaller cheaper hotels. For the price, at least give us continental breakfast or something. Nope. Not worth it to go back, definitely.

Great view of Tumon Bay and great facilities

Posted 13-Nov-2014
The hotel was very nice and accommodated us well, even though we arrived prior to our check in time. However, it was clear that our bathroom had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. There was a used bar of soap in the shower along with someone else's hair. Besides that, the hotel room was nice and newly renovated, and the bar/pool area was great. Snorkeling and kayak rental was a nice surprise and a lot of fun.

Never As Good As Home

Posted 21-Oct-2014
Pros: Close enough to everything, but not in the midst of the crazy in Tumon Bay area.
Cons: The showers could have been cleaner - a bit of mold in between the tiles.
Location: The hotel is set back from the road and is separated from all the other hotels in Tumon Bay - less busy and its quiet.
Sometimes we pick hotels because we trust the name; this is the case with the Hilton, Guam. Important thing is, I had a clean place to sleep for two nights - can't complain!

Hilton Hotel - great hotel, poor room!

Posted 10-Oct-2014
Pros: I loved the staff, food, amenities and location.
Cons: The rooms 100% need to be revamped ASAP especially when you are paying such a large fee!
Location: We hired a car so drove everywhere but there is a bus that takes you to the main strip where there are shops, food places and much more.
The hotel itself was wonderful, the staff were fabulous - so friendly and very helpful with my baby but our room was like a throwback to the 70's! We booked an Executive King Room and it was tiny!! Friends in other hotels paid less than half of what we did and their rooms were much bigger and better. There was mould in the room and bathroom, the carpet was not laid well and was coming up at the edges, the walls were marked with god-knows-what and in general the room needed a makeover. We couldn't change rooms because everything was fully-booked! If the room was a wonderful as the rest of the hotel it would have been a perfect stay but the room condition let it down so much. The food places in the hotel were great, a little pricey but 100% worth it and the kids play area in the buffet room was a god-send! The hotel also had a kids play area inside and out which was wonderful for my little one to let off some steam. Again 100% for the actual hotel but the room was a generous 30% especially for the money we paid!!!

Room condition is... meh~~~

Posted 16-Aug-2014
Pros: Nothing. Only thing good was it was walking distance to Proa.
Cons: The room, especially the air conditioner and the bathroom needs an overhaul.
Location: Eat at Proa. Order the short ribs, caesar salad. Not the trio, but only the short ribs.
I was expecting the Hilton experience when checking in to my room but found the room to be very soggy and the bathroom pretty dirty. It was late in the evening so didn't bother to call housekeeping. Even with the air conditioner on all night, the room was humid and the floor carpet felt soggy. I'm never coming back to Hilton Guam, ever.

Where's the service?

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Guam is really expensive in regards to transportation. The Hilton is not close to anything, but they don't run a free shuttle to Tumon or the airport ($15 per person). With all of the extra money I spent on taxis and buses, I should have stayed at the Hyatt.

OK hotel that closes too early

Posted 17-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
This property has nice amenities, is located on the beach and has an appropriate selection of amenities. The rooms are going through a renovation and are nice. However, we arrive at 9:55pm and couldn't get anything to eat as the restaurants were all closed. As such, we ordered room service and had them deliver it to the bar. We get to the bar and it was last call! 10pm and last call! The food arrived and it was terrible; completely inedible. After the bar closed, the hotel had about 30 people hanging in the lobby talking as there was nothing to do. Why the lobby? Because there is a 24hr coffee shop that sells bottled beer.
