Dear Mitzi,Thank you for your positive feed back, we do appreciate it and will share with the entire staff at Hotel Balnerario San Juan Cosalá. Hopefully you will afford us a new opportunity to welcome you back in our beautifull retreat getaway in Chapala Lake. Warmest regards,
Dear Mr. Robert,We thank you for your comments, appreciate the feed back regarding the parking facilities, unfortunatelly as per we are a small hotel with a hugge demand on our water park, the parking spaces seams to be insuficient. Cenatntlly we'd really love to have a parking space for every vehicle that visit us, but this is out off our hands. Hopefully you will undestand this and grant us the opportuity to welcome you back in the near future.Regards from the entire team at Hotel Balneario San Juan Cosalá.

Spa Travel/Hot Springs
The amenities is the main reason I stay here. The Spa and Aquatic area are wonderful. I have been to other locations in the area & always run into a few hot spring tubs out of service & or just not enough staffing to maintain, but this location is good. I have never ran into shutdowns and they keep up their property. The hotel rooms are good not the best but they are good enough to sleep and rest in. When I go to this property I don't spend anytime in the room so just the fact that the room is clean and convininet is good for me. The area is safe and the amenities are top notch.

I was not expecting to pay more money to have access to a room for my mother an 83 year old woman who can't go upstairs. I was very disappointed to have to pay extra money for having a guest with disabilities.

Dear Alondra,Thank you for your comments, we apologize on behalf to the entire staff at Hotel Balneario San Juan Cosalá for the inconvenience during your stay. Unfortunately we did not receive any additional information regarding your special request and your mothers age or her mobility restrictions, until your arrival to our property. As you may realized, we are a petit property in rooms and our room availability in the ground floor is limited to a short number of units. The room you got is a different room category than the one you reserved, and it was the only one available in low floor at that time, this is the reason why we had to apply a charge resulting from the rate difference between the categories. We will be glad to welcome you and give your a free upgrade to the same room category dawn stairs in your next visit.Looking forward to welcome you in a near future.Regards,
Dear Alexander,We regret that your experience was not as it was expected, unfortunately you did not show up and did not have the opportunity to enjoy our services. Hopefully you may have the opportunity to complete your trip in a future occasion, instead of having to stay in other location so you can have the real feedback of the experience. We will gladly welcome you in a future stay and show you what our real service experience is.Best regards.
Agradecemos su comentario y les esperamos nuevamente en un futuro cercano.Saludos cordiales.

Started out great staff was friendly I had an extra person that was 15 when I checked in and the person at night didn’t have an extra bracelet or knew how to get one so he told me to pay when I checkout for the person since I was only staying 1 night. Well the next day from morning till whatever time they did not stop bothering me I couldn’t enjoy my stay. They called me to the counter while I was swimming so I was all wet. They told me about the extra person and I explained to them. Then they said ok just have them come up and get a bracelet and you can pay when you leave. I’m like ok so I go get them and then they say actually you have to pay now so go get your wallet. And I’m like you just told me I could pay at checkout. Anyways I had to go to my room through the lobby without a shirt soaked to get money. I would stay again but it was to expensive for the room you get a room without ac and the outlets short circuit. The staff was very indecisive and I was unable to have a good since I had to stand in the lobby soaked for a long time.

Dear guest,
We appreciate your comments and certaintly would do the proper follow up to them as they are unvaluable feed back.
We regret that you had this odd feeling about the special circumstances during your stay. We where very happy to receive you and the surprise that your kids where comming as part of your party, unfortuantelly due to the fact that Nor Expedia or the hotel were informed your kids will be comming, our staff wasn´t prepare with brazaletes and all the items necesary to welcome them.
As part of the learning on this situation we checked our cameras to better understand what happened, we feel very sorry for this missunderstanding, apparently it was a misscomunication problem.
Your family and you, will always be welcome back to our beatufull and relaxing piece of heaven on the Chapala Lake Riviera and encourage you to book your reservations thru Expedia, pointing how important is to add all the pertainent and complete information on the number of persons comming as part of your party.
Hopping to welcome you back very soon, best regards.
The front check people very rude, need training, not welcoming

What I didn't like was the room: It was not worth the more than $100 U.S. a night that I paid. While the spa is luxurious -- the best that I've ever visited -- one can access the spa fo;r just $15 a day per person if one is not a hotel guest. One gets in free as a hotel guest, but that doesn't make up for the plain room that one gets. For the room price, I expect luxury in Mexico and have gotten that elsewhere at much less cost. Yes, you get a balcony with a view of the hot pools and lake. However, locals say better rooms and a view of the lake are available in other hotels just minutes away. I also didn't appreciate having to bring to reception at checkout my towels, washcloths and television channel changer in order to get back the required $200 peso deposit on them. Enjoy the spa but stay elsewhere unless you have more than 2 people in the room. Otherwise, it's not worth it..

The spa was good is a 2:30 hrs of relax in the hot waters
In every way this is a wonderful place to stay. The pools are great, the scenery spectacular, the food good, the staff friendly, helpful, efficient, and everywhere, so this is a vacation destination.
I loved the scenery. Lake Chapala and the mountain views are gorgeous and peaceful. Apparently this is a well kept secret with the locals so the prices are great but I am sure once the word gets out, the prices will increase. The downsize is there isn't much else to do in the town and the few restaurants that are in town close by 7pm. You can travel a few miles to a town called Chapala but you need a vehicle or use public transportation and they have a lot of restaurants to choice from and great many sites to see, so highly recommend as well. But if your whole purpose is to get some R&R then this is place for you and the only downsize to my stay is that the beds are very firm and I prefer plush.

Hotel is nice, clean staff is friendly
The hotel needs updating like air conditioning in all the rooms. I booked it through Expedia and Expedia doesn’t mention anything about NO AIR CONDITIONING. It was terrible very hot and humid in the room! The kids had fun in the pools and the food sold in site is descent. The parking area needs improvement as well.
It was a really fun experience. The service was great, the amenities were excellent. We were upgraded to a couple’ suit that was great. I hope we can come back in the summer.

Muchas gracias, thanks for your visit, my casa es su casa.
Several thermal pools, a couple of natural saunas, swimming pools, water slides for the kids.Caferiatiera style restaurants ,all of which close early in the evening.Very crowded weekends but as this a spacious facility no problem here.Older rooms very clean.Easy bus, taxi access to Ajijic and Chapala. You can come here for a daily entrance fee of 285 pesos (adults) to use most of the facilities without staying here.In this case bring your own towels.
Absolutely beautiful and relaxing place. There are six jacuzzis: oatmeal, bougainvillea petals, apple cider vinegar, coffee, soy milk, etc. Then you immerse yourself in mud, dry by the lake, go through a last pool and finally get a fabulous massage.

Pleasant stay!
Great view to the Chapala lake, Termal waters are fantastic. If you don't go in car, be prepared to take buses to Chapala and to get there, but it worth it!
3 day stay with my two kids. Was given a very comfy room with nice balcony view. I got the spa package deal that was about 200 pesos. food was decent unside but heard that restaurants around area are pretty good within walking distance. Only one grocery/liquor store around the corner that could save someone that's suffering from last minute munchies. The only downside is the wifi. It rarely worked but if you are there to enjoy the spa and enjoy the hot spring water and pool, then definitely visit this place.

An interesting experience
If you are looking for an interesting experience, this place is nice. Especially if you pay for spa access. The grounds are pretty, but don't expect superb quality in the building since it is older. The drain areas smell a bit. My room had a few small cockroaches. I did love the pools. We went on a weekday so there were not many people there, which is fine by me. I hear the place gets packed and there certainly is room for that. We had wonderful weather so we spent a good time in the thermal pools and I did a spa day. It is about 15 minutes away from Chapala which is a nice drive, and it is a pleasant living from what I see. Picturesque and I was there the evening of Oct 18 through early morning Oct 21. There is one particular food stand within the premises that sells really good tacos and shrimp tacos with all the fixings and fresh salsa. There are other restaurants but that one is very good. Apparently it is slow on Mondays, one of the thermal pools closes for maintenance that day as do a few of the eateries. The staff are welcoming and the grounds are fairly quiet after 7pm when they close to the general public. I liked it...it was relaxing and we had great views of the areas on the other side of the lake.

Thanks somuch for your visit and your review, we will look into the situation with the drains.
DO NOT STAY I plan my trip thinking this was one of the best places to stay but I was very wrong. The room was dirty as soon as I put my bags down I was itching and found bed bugs on 2 beds I had my boyfriend spend half of the nite getting the bugs out of our bed. They also dnt tell you that theres a fee of 300 pesos when u check in. I was there on a weekend and found no parking close by. The pools were crowded with people and dirty. I asked what was the earliest time they open the water slides and pools for the next day to try to avoid the crowds according to them it's 9 am however they did not open until 12pm I was very dissapointed. Eveb though i complaint I was not able to get any reimbursement. For the price it's the worth the stay.
Cheap hotel, very outdated. NO A/C Very muggy even at night. Was allowed only 1 bath bar & 1 wash cloth per room even thought there were 2 adults staying. The grounds and pool areas were well maintained. Almost no chance of parking after the hundreds of day spa guests arrived. No phone in room. Very few of staff spoke English although most staff tried to help. Will NOT go back here, nor recommend this place!

Different site from the more tuiristic places, very pleasant area and the weather was fantastic. One dissapointing point was that restaurants did not open early and there was not a place to get a cup of coffe before 9:00am.
The staff can be a bit friendly.
Had a great experience and like the place
