In City Centre

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Pros: The staff.
Cons: Triple glazing for front facing windows and firmer beds
Location: City centre - close to shops, cinemas and theatres
From a location point of view this hotel is excellent. However, it is situated on a main road through Glasgow city centre and the rooms to the front, unfortunately, do experience considerable traffic noise. The bedroom and bathroom were a reasonable size although the downside for myself was that bed was soft rather than firm. The carpet in the bedroom was poorly fitted resulting in folds in various areas. The staff on reception and in the restaurant areas however were very pleasant and eager to help.

poor dated hotel

Posted 20-Nov-2014
Pros: little
Cons: most of it
we did not stay - after booking in and seeing the room we left. the room was an upgade room (expensive) very close to the kitchen with the smell of grease very strong. carpet was badly stained and bath needs renewing. it was not a welcoming room in fact the opposite. we choose to leave and return home. the hotel was perhaps good in its day but not now. we did not make much of a fuss mainly die to the understanding of the staff who where great. got the impression that this was not the first instance they had experienced.

Pros: The wonderful lift and the great location
Breakfast is to be recommended, and for us Sooth Moothers square sausage is quite a novelty.

Posted 09-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
It was a fascinating old building. The staff were very helpful and the location excellent. We found dining outside the hotel and there were nearby places for breakfast. We definitely would lovee to return to Glasgow and this hotel.

Bad room on first night

Posted 01-Oct-2014
Pros: The lift
Cons: Demolish the room we had for the first night
Location: Very convenient location for city sights
Terrible room (at huge expense) on our first night. Had to ask for a new room as our room smelt of drains, the phone did not work properly, the bedside light did not work, the toothbrush charger was broken, the pillows smelt. However the replacement room was fine.
