Nice hotel with really lovely staff.

Posted 26-Jun-2014
Pros: The decor is great.
Cons: I suspect a few facilities will need to be updated soon as some of it is looking tired.
Location: Superb location, I was working at the Concert Hall and loved that it was just a short walk away with plenty of bars restaurants and shops right there.
I was there for 5 days on a business trip in one of the "comfortable" rooms. I love the hotel's decor and general atmosphere. Everything was clean and quite well maintained. My room would have been perfect if it had had a small fridge in it. I was particularly please with all the staff as they were friendly and professional at all times.

One night stay

Posted 24-Jun-2014
Pros: The hotel is well placed near the city centre but the street is reasonably quiet considering the location.
Cons: Rooms could be cleaned to a higher standard and the furniture could be renewed.
Location: The city centre location means you have easy access to the citys sights, shops, restaurants and transport links.
My wife and I stayed at the Arthouse while in Glasgow to attend the Eric Clapton concert at the SSE Hydro. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room cleaning left a little to be desired but the bedding and towels were spotlessly clean. The room carpet was poorly fitted and the curtain linings were frayed not what you would expect in a four star hotel. On the plus side the rooms have excellent tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries are supplied also there was an iron and board in the room.

Not a 4 * hotel as described.

Posted 18-Jun-2014
Pros: The situation
Cons: The heating, decor and the room size.
Location: Easy walking distance into the city.
The room was small with only one tiny window that opened. The outlook from the window was the wall of the next building which had a noisy generator. The air conditioning could only be reduced to 19degrees and consequently was far too warm at night. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Perfect for business

Posted 12-Jun-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Breakfast - additional £10 cost Greek yogurt and fresh compote substituted by cheap yogurt and dried fruit. Cooked part ok but overpriced.
Quiet spectacular room, robe, fab toiletries and professional friendly staff. More like a spa than a work visit. Cool original gate style lift. Breakfast was ok but better to go to one of many coffee bars instead. Ate in Butterfly and Pig minutes away recommended by reception and superb. I felt looked after in the Arthouse which is rare for one night visits in big cities.

Central hotel in Glasgow

Posted 28-Apr-2014
Pros: It is, as the name suggests, arty and a bit quirky.
Cons: the top floor hallway carpet could do with a clean or refresh
Last minute booking when our travel plans changed. The Hotel Staff were friendly and informative (giving us two excellent recommendations for an evening out in Glasgow). The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom very decent.

Beautiful hotel but just too noisy!

Posted 11-Apr-2014
Pros: Stunning building, huge room
Cons: Noise abatement!
Location: Great location, walking distance to city centre bars, shops and restaurants
I stayed on business in one of the enviable rooms having always enjoyed staying in the abode hotel in Manchester. The room and hotel are stunning but unfortunately the location on a busy street (seemed to have refuge collections at regular intervals throughout the night) and the lack of suitable glazing meant that it was just too noisy. I asked the staff to shut the large window that was way above head height but it seems this wasn't possible and the best they could do was pull it in a bit. The breakfast was great and the staff were very pleasant but when I told them about the noise I was less than impressed with the response of "yeah, quite a few people have said that"

Welcoming unique hotel in central area

Posted 29-Mar-2014
Pros: First class staff, interesting building, comfortable bed, great breakfast, great location.
Location: Great bar/restaurant nearby called the Butterfly & Pig. Highly recommended.
The staff were first class - welcoming, professional and friendly. Listed features outside and inside make this a unique hotel - it makes a change from staying in chain hotels. Rooms were very clean and tidy, old fashioned style but that's what made our stay more special. Beds were very comfortable, great toiletries and lovely fluffy towels. There was a great selection for breakfast - definitely worth it. Perfect location - minutes walk from the main shopping area, train & bus station.

Lovely city centre hotel

Posted 20-Mar-2014
Pros: Staff were brilliant and the bed hugely comfy. Loved the old fashioned lift.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of
Location: Excellent Italian restaurant next door and walking distance for all the shops you could possibly want
We stayed 2 nights to attend a concert at the Hydro. The staff were brilliant and took the time to suggest shopping venues and routes. The room was small but lovely with possibly the comfiest hotel bed I have ever slept in. We will be back!

Fantastic location, great price, A+++

Beautiful little boutique hotel with fantastic individual touches (working victorian lift, huge water feature). SO much nicer to stay in a place like this than a chain. The staff were friendly, the room was comfy, the price was excellent, and the location in the heart of Glasgow city centre was top-notch. The full scottish breakfast kept me going all day. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Everything was 1st class, especially the service of the staff. Only downside was that the elevator was very slow & out of service for a long period during the stay. Aside from that everything was great the Arthouse.
