“Pity about the staff”
Hotel clean & perfectly located for my trip. For a superior room, it was adequate: nothing to write home about. Toilet and shower room separate which was fone, except the toilet was tiny: step to the side of the toilet itself to close / open the door and then walk next door to wash your hands.... I think I came across 1 member of staff who was a native English speaker: the girl at reception had to admit that she hadn't actually paid attention to a word I'd said to her during check in and hadn't checked that I'd actually paid for the trip some months prior (wanted credit card details for payment again). Handy car parking.
“A quality stop”
Our family spent one night at the Novotel taking 2 rooms. Good location a short walk from shops and restaurants. Rooms were very clean and fresh. Welcoming reception and friendly helpful staff. No complaints but the car parking is a bit "tight". Would certainly use this hotel again. Good value.
“Very good”
Pretty much all as expected. Nice and comfortable. The only minor negative points were that the free internet computers in reception were not working and the quality of the toilet paper in my room. The toilet paper was a cheaper not so soft type.
“Very good value for money”
We booked this hotel stay a few months ahead of our journey to Glasgow and got a very good advance booking rate. The welcome at the hotel was very warm and helpful, and we found the location perfect for the things we wanted to do - sightseeing, theater show, restaurants, museums all in walking distance for our fitness level. The weather turned out to be warm and sunny which helped us to really enjoy the city. We definitely plan to go back.
“Great location for restaurants, shops and places of interest.”
Great staff and service - really worked hard to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Rooms modern and clean. Option to upgrade to an executive suite for a fee and if you are looking for a real treat then it would be worth it. Two minutes walk from Sauchiehall Street so great access to Tour Bus stop, shops and amazing restaurants. Price of accommodation included breakfast from a brilliant selection. Have never had a bad experience booking with Expedia!
“Not bad but expected more”
On arrival, this hotel seemed ideal. It is located just off a main shopping street with a short walk into to main city centre area, shopping malls, cinema, bus station and train station. The room was a good size but the carpet was in desperate need of a good cleaning. The internet surcharge was expensive television was limited. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were awkward and somewhat uncomfortable. The staff were polite and helpful although didn't seem to know much about the area. For instance I asked for directions to a venue wich was 10 min away by walking and was advised to take a 40 min taxi ride (thankfully I decided to ask someone else). Overall, it is an ok place, basic value for the money, close to main places of interest. Recommended for a traveller not needing much luxury and attention.
“SUPERB”
great hotel, stayed for 1 night, had drink in bar after quick check in, was really nice with friendly staff and they had sky sports, room was lovely especially for smoking room, the best was the breakfast, firstly because they serve till 12 on a sunday and after clubbing the lie in was appreciated, but the buffet was lovely, cereals, toast, baguettes, tea coffee, orange juice, eggs bacon, sausage, hagis, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, fruit and more, will be back
“Excellent visit to an excellent hotel”
Everything from the booking with Expedia to the actual visit was top class. This was our second stay at the Novotel and we would certainly repeat our trip. We were able to park in the underground car park and this was a bonus. The room was clean, comfortable and good value in every sense. The breakfast was also excellent. Similar to that offered at many European hotels but the quality was extremely good. We wanted a central location for shopping and leisure and that's what we got here.
“Excellent value for money.”
This is an excellent hotel. Right in the centre of Glasgow, it is good for business and leisure purposes. There is limited parking but an NCP carpark is close at hand. The room itself was in a quiet location within the hotel and was very comfortable. The only downside was the cost of breakfast. At 12.95GBP for a continental breakfast, this was to our minds excessive.
