Great Hotel

Posted 22-Sep-2014
Pros: The extra touches like the fluffy robes and ice machine
Cons: Nothing
Location: Very good location for Hydro, Armadillo and SECC but close enough to walk into centre of Glasgow
Lovely hotel. Very well placed for us for our night at the Hydro and also close enough to walk into centre of Glasgow. Room was well equipped and very clean with fluffy robes. Also noticed ice maker machine in the hall which we only noticed after checking out but we did wonder why there was an ice bucket in the room with no way of making ice in the fridge. We just booked room only but we could have had breakfast as they were doing a deal on breakfasts if required. Definitely would book again

Great Hotel

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Unfortunately my friend and I did not get to make the most of this hotel as it was a short one night stay, we were out all day/night at a festival then checked out early the next morning! From what we seen of it was really nice, close to the motorway for easy access an parking facilities on site. Train station a few yards up the road. Hotel staff all very friendly and extremely helpful! Also as I am a smoker I was delighted to see you could book smoking rooms, obviously the room did not smell great but was very clean and spacious. Would defiantly stay here again and make more use of their facilities, highly recommend 😄👌

Lovely, comfortable hotel close to city centre

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: Friendly staff, great food, comfortable room, lovely spa.
Cons: Wifi provision in room.
Location: In walking distance of; Kings Theatre, Central Station, riverside walks, Science Museum, Transport Museum, shopping centre.
Very friendly, comfortable hotel. Easily beats the more expensive Glasgow hotels for customer service. Room very clean, with all amenities provided. Great value for money, would highly recommend.

Glasgow visit

Posted 17-Jul-2014
Pros: Friendly.
Location: Relatively pleasant and quiet hotel, and easily reach to town center only 8-10 mins walk . Bus stop ( hop on hop off) is almost on the doorstep .
A pleasant quiet hotel and quite friendly people. We mostly out and about in Glasgow and only went back to wash and sleep. However at the time when we met the staffs and request the things , they are always friendly and meet our request.

Friendly staff

We booked this hotel last minute and were really impressed by the quality of the service and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The leisure facilities are good, the hotel is a very short walk from the city centre and the room was impeccably clean. The best aspect however was undoubtedly the staff - nothing was too much trouble and everyone was super polite and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.

Disappointing start but improved end product

Posted 30-Jun-2014
Pros: The breakfast and the geniality of the reception staff Large bedroom The pool complex looked inviting
Cons: Old fashioned room decor and unpleasant air freshener
Location: Queen St station is walkable even with heavy luggage Likewise shopping
We arrived late at night after a long journey hopping off the bus from the airport Having booked a twin room we arrived to find only doubles remained. After 40 mins they had separated the beds and the room was - OK. Two groups of men were in the same position but we were all offered drinks ( and ice-cream ) whilst we waited. Next morning the breakfast was good and the reception staff were helpful with regard to storing our luggage

What a surprise

Posted 25-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
My heart sank when I turned the corner. The exterior is dire (peeling paint, weeds galore in the planters, scruffy entrance with cigarette smoke blowing in). As soon as you enter the door it's a completely different world! Service was amazing, the rooms were spotless if in need of a little up-dating and new aircon. . The family room was really good value. The toiletries were a little bit meh, not really befitting a 4 * . Food quality is acceptable, although the drinks prices are a little bonkers. Overall the staff were really attentive without being annoying, nothing was too much bother. Well worth what we paid, but with very little input could be even better. If you are on a business trip this is ideal, and if you want value for money then definitely go for it.
