“Very good hotel”
The hotel is very high class and works ata very high level which is lovely but I personally felt slightly uncomfortable as I felt older people looked down at us. the only other downside was that the mini bar was not stocked. room service was fantastic!!!! absolutley goregous food. Breakfast couldnt of ben any better there was a wide variety of top class food.
“Not as good as it used to be”
We have stayed at The Hilton in Glasgow for the last 6 years and have noticed a decline, mainly in the food. We ate at Minsky's Brasserie the first night, as we always do, and were disappointed by the choice and quality of food. There were only two roasts available, gammon and turkey, both of which were tasteless. I chose the continental meats to start with, but again, the choice was not there. The desserts were not named correctly, with the raspberry crannach an, actually a strawberry trifle. The price has risen in the last couple of years and ll in all for £25, it was poor. The hotel was generally good, but think before eating at Minsky's. There are a lot of good restaurants a short taxi ride away.
“Nice Hilton-type hotel. Pricy but predictably good.”
Good.
“Another satisfied customer”
The whole "experience" was what is expected of a 5 star hotel. The only downsides were; a) Lack of parking b) Cost of items in mini-bar c) Bar prices
“Looking forward to going back”
no complaints whats over - couldn't have asked for more. Service was impeccable, executive lounge was a nice place to go after a day sightseeing and breakfast was very nice and lots of it.
“Slipping Standard”
The loaction is of the hotel is convenient for the SECC where I was attending a conference & equally accessible to the City Centre by foot. Facilities were good and room quite comfortable, but disappointed to note mould growing around the silicone bath sealant & broken robe hook behind bathroom door not replaced. It was small things like this that gave that subtle but ever so evident appearance of under maintenance.
“good hotel but a bit short of a 5 star!”
We have stayed here twice before but about 17 years ago. We found it was not as good as we remembered. We had mould in several places around the bath in the grout-surely a decent maid would be telling housekeeping it needed regrouting. In fact, proper cleaning/drying would mean there should be no mould. Only one tissue in the box. Breakfast was ok but the "hot" food -the bacon etc., was far from hot. We were fairly early for breakfast, about 7 a.m. and would have expected it to be perfect. May sound minor complaints, but this is a 5 star hotel.
“GOOD HOTEL”
EXCELLENT HOTEL
“A 'proper' 4-star hotel”
The Glasgow Hilton is exactly what you would expect of a 4-star hotel. Clean, great service, high standard of fixtures, decor etc. It sounds hard, but so many supposed 4-star hotels manage to struggle with these basics. The surrounding area is a bit ropey - always has been, always will be - but you are handy for pretty much everything in the town.
“Glasgow Football Weekend”
The hotel has a great tradition but is sadly no longer a 5 star hotel. It is understaffed, the lifts are woefully inadequate & the decor is showing its age. I got a good deal on the price however so overall it was value for money; for perhaps a four star.
