“Didn't live up to expectations”
I booked my stay at the Mint hotel purely due to it's price and close proximity to the SECC. It's location is great and the price at which I booked was excellent value for money. Whilst there I used to the lounge for a drink and bite to eat and the service and quality of the food was very good. The rooms are fitted with iMac's complete with TV/Computer/DVD etc, which is certainly unique. Unfortunately my remote was not working so I was unable to use of its functions. I reported to problem to the reception staff at 1400hrs and they promised maintenance would be on it within the hour, alas when I returned to my room at 1700hrs it was still broken. I spoke to reception again who apologised and said it will be straight away. By the time I went off to my concert at the SECC at 1800hrs it was still not fixed. You would think it would have been returned by the time I got back, it wasn't. Other than this, I couldn't fault the hotel, well maybe they could give free parking to guests!
“nice hotel”
we booked this hotel as we were going to a concert in the secc. in terms of location it couldn't have been better - about 2 minute walk to the stadium. we walked into town during the day and it took about 15 - 20 min however in a taxi it took about 5 minutes so convenient for that also. The rooms were very clean and the bed comfortable. didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked lovely inside.
“Great Weekend”
I picked this hotel because I have used Mint Hotels for work but never stayed at this one. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. The location is a little outside the City Centre but suited us fine as it is quiet and right by the River Clyde. It doesn't seem to attract noisy weekend revellers. You can reach the city centre in 15 minutes by foot. There is plenty of space for car parking and really handy for local attractions like the concert hall, Kelvingrove and Sauchiehall Street All the facilities were excellent and dinner and breakfast were both very good. The room was comfortable, We like the modern decor, a window that opens for fresh air (not possible in many hotels) and the Apple multimedia system. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.
“Excellent location, great hotel and they do gluten free!!!”
Lovely hotel, Mac TV :-), fantastic shower, great service although we were only there briefly. Great selection at breakfast including gluten free toast which is pretty unusual! Fantastic location especially if you're going to the SECC.
“will always stay in”
THIS IS MY SECOND STAY IN THE HOTEL WITHIN 6 WEEKS, THE FIRST STAY WITH MY FAMILY FOR THE WHOLE WEEK AND THIS TIME FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY AS I WAS ON A BUSSINESS. THE HOTEL IS EXCELLENT , VERY CONVIENIENT, VERY CLEAN AND SUPERB BREAKFAST WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE IN THE BREAKFAST ROOM. IAM A FREQUENT TRAVELLER ALL OVER THE WORLD AND ALWAYS STAY IN 5 OR 4 STAR HOTEL BUT THIS HOTEL GIVES ME A GREAT SATISFACTION WITH REASONABLE PRICE
“Great breakfast”
We booked this hotel as it was convenient to the West End and the City (about a 25min walk to both). It's modern, clean and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable although a little on the small side and the breakfast was plentiful with a good selection from the buffet and additional dishes cooked to order. Would stay again.
“everything for business traveller”
Everything that you could want for a business stay. Perfect location for SECC. The rooms are not big but they have what you need. Large bed, desk and chair, and a lounging chair. Apple Mac PC/TV, mini bar, tea and coffee making, safe, iron and ironing board, magnifying bathroom mirror, bath robes. All this with an excellent cold buffet breakfast and/or freshly cooked everything included Scottish breakfast. Thoroughly recommended
“If you go to SECC stay here”
The Mint was well-appointed and comfortable and the staff went out of their way to accomodate guest needs- from getting an early check-in after an international flight to printing my boarding pass for me when it was time to check out. If your business takes you to the SECC, this hotel should be on your list.
“Inexpensive, Clean and Modern Hotel”
Spent a night in the Mint hotel in Glasgow. It's located on the river beside a beautiful arch bridge, a fifteen minute walk to the city center. It was nice to walk along the river to go out, however, it is a bit sketchy since there aren't many people that take this route. The hotel room was very clean. The dressers and closets are neatly organized and if you are staying there long term then there is plenty of space to hang or store your clothes. The bed was very comfortable. The room overlooked the river and at night it was especially nice to gaze out onto the lit up bridge. There is a mini bar but there are also other items layed out in different places so if the moment arises and you wish to indulge some expensive wine it is there for your taking. There were also some toiletries such as a razor, which is nice if you forgot yours. Your room also has an iMac preloaded with some useful software if you need it. It also is a TV and a radio. It was useful for getting my boarding passes printed for my flight the next day, however, the connection to the printer downstairs was broken. Thanks to the incredibly helpful staff, I simply emailed this to them and they very kindly printed them for me. This is a great hotel for the price. It is convenient and has exactly what you need if you want it but leaves you alone if you don't. No fancy valet service, a restaurant with optional breakfast. Room service. Laundry. It's all there if you need it.
“Everything I Wanted”
The hotel is a bit outside the centre, but close enough to walk. It is convenient for many of the museums including the soon to be opened transport museum. .The room was functional- double bed despite being booked as a single, and an excellent piece of technology; an apple mac which was also the TV etc. The food facilities are good with a good in house restaurant and two other restaurants within 100metres. At the right price I would definitely stay again
