“glasgow”
great hotel great location nice staff
“carlton george”
loved the decor a real scottish themed hotel, location is right in the middle of buchanan street. excellent
“Glasgow is miles better.”
For a brief stay in Glasgow after travelling by train, this hotel was an excellent choice. The room was spacious, attractively furnished with a good bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable and a good night's sleep was easily obtained. All staff were polite and helpful and I really enjoyed my stay. I'd certainly like to stay again, because I loved Glasgow and this hotel.
“Affordable, central location in Glasgow”
The Carlton is a great central location in Glasgow. Right next to the train station and on the corner of Buchanan Street. I don't know if it would be noisy having a room overlooking the street but ours faced inwards towards other rooms so it was very quiet. The room was more spacious than I expected, and the cost included a free mini-bar. We went out to eat a couple times at restaurants the receptionists recommended; one was the best Thai we have ever had.
“Excellent location”
This hotel is right in the heart of Glasgow -next to George Square. We had booked 3 rooms and on arrival 1 was upgraded to club. All the rooms were lovely and the club room bigger than the others with large flat screen TV and internet access. All rooms had a complimentary mini bar - useful for water and soft drinks as well as alcohol. Breakfast in the Windows restaurant was very nice and freshly made to order but perhaps a bit pricey - but the view was amazing.
“fab city break”
the hotel was great - we booked on Expedia and got a real bargain - terrific value for money. We were given 4 vouchers for drinks at the next door pub, Waxy O'connors, and we could use the complimentary mini bar - which was topped up EVERY day. We ALSO had crystal decanters with sherry gin and whisky, again free and agin topped up if we finished them. we just couldn't keep up! bathrobes and slippers provided. it was so central it was untrue.
“Loved this place.”
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. It is right in the middle of the main shopping district and plenty of restaurants for Glasgow. The only negative is the view, but that is just being picky. Overall a very nice place to stay; I would not hesitate to return.
“Excellent service , value and restaurant- BEST IN GLASGOW!!”
From 1st contact with very helpful booking people and, particularly, to the front of house folk, it was a great stay. The restaurant - "Windows"- was intimate and excellent food and service at a surprisingly good price. Breakfast was a real treat, too. The maitre d' and staff were great. My wife is in a wheelchair and the specially adapted executive room was perfect. For the small extra of an executive room cost, there were free drinks in the room - decanters and mini-bar(!) and a beautifully appointed executive lounge with free coffee and drinks again. Donald at reception was a star -organised taxis for the theatre , checked out times and could not do enough to help. I can't praise the hotel enough - and our last stay was at Gleneagles - so there!
“Great location”
Lovely welcoming hotel...with free mini bars in rooms!! Didn,t eat at hotel as so near so many great restaurants so can,t comment on food there. Would definitely go back any time, felt very comfortable there.
“Good location & great staff”
We really enjoyed our stay: great location with everything in walking distance and very helpful and friendly staff. Our only gripe was the central heating seemed to be permanently set to high and the air conditioning did little to cool things down!
