“Going to a concert at the SECC This is the Place to Stay”
The Campanile is welcoming with excellent pleasant staff and is extremely good value. Included in the price is free parking which in a city like Glasgow is at a premium. The food is good if not exciting e.g. Fish & Chips but is plentiful and excellent value for money. You only need to go to neighbouring hotels and have a drink or look at the menu to realise this is value for money. Rooms are adequate but not cramped. Free WFI works a treat. All in all I would go back for my next visit to the SECC.
“Surprisingly good”
Good hotel, friendly staff, neat rooms, close to the SECC and on the Clyde, more than adequate for a business stay in Glasgow.
“No room to breathe”
This hotel has no room in the rooms. Your electric is timed, Breakfast is limited
“Glasgow hospitality rules.”
From the moment we arrived the staff made up for the poor but central location. They were bubbly, friendly and ever so helpful. NOTHING WAS A PROBLEM FOR THEM. Great nights sleep, and an Eye opener. Never judge by location only. WELL DONE STAFF.
“Was perfect for our needs”
The hotel was perfect for our needs of a warm friendly hotel at a good price. Very helpful receptionist on arrival. Despite being signposted the way into the hotel carpark was easily missed, coming just before the large Rotunda building.
“Convenient”
Very convenient for SECC, science centre etc Fairly convenient for city centre, especially if driving. Easy to get to from M8 with own parking. Rooms basic but reasonable for price. Friendly staff.
“Fine for overnight stay”
Very convenient for Clyde Auditorium and SECC. Pleasant staff. Fine for an overnight stay but room a bit small for more than a couple of nights. Good shower. Seats in bar area could do with being recovered. Did not use restaurant/breakfast.
“Glasgow on a budget”
This hotel was fine, nothing fancy or luxurious but value for money. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We wanted an hotel in or near Glasgow with parking, easy access into the centre and didn't want to pay a premium price. This one fitted the bill. The location wasn't pretty but the Clyde was just across the road and if you are out all day it doesn't matter. It was just that bit too far out of the centre to walk but we bought a Sight -seeing Bus Pass which was valid for 2 days. The bus pick up point was a few yards away. This way we were able to hop on and off the bus to visit the sights, get a potted history en route and be delivered back to our hotel. An evening trip into the city would mean driving or a taxi but if you didn't want the hassle the bar and restaurant at the hotel were fine. The menu was limited but for a few nights it sufficed and prices were very reasonable. Breakfast was also value for money with either a continental or full English buffet. If we were going back to Glasgow I would consider the Campanile again.
“A happy surprise!”
For the price and location (we were going to a concert at the SECC) we were amazed at how good it was! Nothing to complain about at all. Would definitely stay there again.
“not much to write home about”
Pretty mundane hotel, sort of on travel lodge standards, but cheap and cheerful. very unimpressive breakfast - cooked breakfast not worth the £8.50 extra charge, it was tepid and half cooked, had to make own toast in a dead slow machine.
