Nice Resort like hotel in beautifully magnificent

Posted 25-Jul-2015
You will be greated by an extremely friendly staff. Decor is classically Scottish with dark tartan motif , lovely. Our room was nice, comfortable but not extremely spacious. It was fine. Hotel has various restaurant and includes a daily English Beakfast with you stay. (Large buffet or off the menu) Only criticism would be a bit slow dining service ...but your on vacation :)

Excellent hotel

Posted 25-Jul-2015
This was our second visit to the hotel. Yet again, we were very impressed with the hotel and its staff. It is pricey to stay here, but it's worth it! The only thing that let our visit down slightly was The Boathouse restaurant, which didn't live up to the standards of the rest of the hotel.

Luxury hotel

Posted 20-Jul-2015
I stayed here as a special treat as I am undergoing Cancer treatment and found it to be absolutely lovely. The staff were fantastic and provided us with a free glass of bubbly which was most welcome! I highly recommend the Carrick Spa, although a little pricey at £39 each, which was tranquil and relaxing. Overall a great place to stay.

Nice bar pity about the waitress

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Pros: Every thing but the waitress.
Cons: an individual retraining.
Location: Plenty for all tastes and abilities
Excellent location, 99% of staff cordial and pleasant, pity about the bar person who floated about the place more interested in herself, than to serve customers. Unless she thought worthy, of her attendance. I pointed this out to the management on duty, who were very sorry and offered us free drinks. Which we declined and thanked them for the offer. In a good hotel the staff need to remember its the hotel who carry the stars, not the star in the hotel dressed as a staff member.

Enjoyable 4 night stay with a 2 year old

Posted 16-Jul-2015
Spent four nights in a junior suite. From our initial arrival staff were friendly and welcoming. The concierge managed to charm our 2 year old son. Overall the staff were very friendly. There appeared to be a wedding each day we were there but it didn’t interfere with the quality of care given to the other guests as can sometimes be the case. The junior suite was comfortable with vast wardrobe space. The bedroom (and bed) were particularly spacious with the living room less so. The settee was perhaps not the most comfortable but not a major complaint. Personally, I would prefer the mini-bar to be pre-stocked instead of having to ask for it to be filled but I understand why a hotel would do this. The breakfast was a well oiled operation with choice to suit anyone. It was very good. Service was excellent as was the food. Our only other dining experience at the hotel was at The Boathouse on the first night and we didn’t think it was particularly child friendly. The menu didn’t appear to cater for children and the seats were unsuitable (even for a small adult). Car parking is not fantastic, spaces are limited and distant but the hotel offers valet parking which is a way around it. There were a lot of facilities for young children (creche, outdoor play area, games room, leisure facilities). We booked very late and had little choice in room type. I would say the Q Hotel group website is not particularly good at describing the type of rooms/suites available at the hotel.

Chic, expensive.

Posted 11-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, beautiful surroundings, glamour...
Love the setting, ambiance, location. Every detail is thought of with expertise. Definitely a place for very affluent guests; or that somewhere special for a very special occasion.

Pros: Setting. Service friendliness of staff - knowledgable helpful staff group
Cons: Check in procedures
Location: Float plane trips over Loch Lomond
Overall a good stay _ some difficulty with check in where they were confused about the number of Fay's we had booked but ultimately resolved.

Short stay

Posted 13-Jun-2015
Pros: Lovely clean rooms, food excellent, great bar area, valet parking men such an asset as first point of contact, lovely grounds, beautiful scenery.
Cons: No where to sit outside in the sun. The rattan furniture outside the leisure area is dirty and covered in leaves.
The valet parking men at the hotel were excellent, a real asset. The bar where we had pre dinner drinks had excellent staff. The girls who were the breakfast waitresses were pleasant, but in need of better training. No biting of nails while wandering aimlessly about, no passing of tables empty handed while there are dirty plates waiting to be cleared. We had breakfast just after nine and were one of three or four tables of guests, so the restaurant was practically empty. There were around five waitresses going about setting up tables. I had to ask if I could order something off the menu for breakfast, then I had to ask for a fresh pot of hot water for my tea, then I had to ask for more toast, I had to ask if they would clear away our dirty plates, after the waitress had passed our table empty handed several times. We ran out of butter and I felt I could not ask again, so gave up. It's a beautiful hotel, with delicious food, lovely rooms, and very inefficient breakfast waitresses. Also, it would have been lovely to sit outside in the sun somewhere comfortable. There are many rattan chairs etc out side the leisure area beside the crazy golf which are in need of a good clean and not really used. It would be lovely to clean them up, add some seat cushions, position them in small groups around the hotel grounds so people can sit outside when the weather is hot and enjoy the views and sunshine.
