Budget hotel, friendly staff but the rooms are small and need updating. Television remote didn't work and the tv channels would phase in and out.

It is a lovely, clean, comfortable hotel in a beautiful area of Glasgow. The only complaint was the room key cards can be deactivated by your mobile phone. This happened to us & we had to ring & wake up the receptionist. Seems like an impractical system.

The shower was awesome! The room was larger than I expected. The beds were a little firmer than I preferred but I still slept well. The breakfast was well worth the cost. The front desk worker was super. He was an absolute gem! The only negative thing about this hotel was the lack of an elevator. I’m older and carrying a bag upstairs is difficult.

The staff were very friendly on arrival and the rooms were clean. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate available which was nice. Handy for the city centre. Parking was a bit of a pain outside the hotel after 8am Monday but we found a car park less than 10 minutes walk away which was reasonable. The walls were a little thin and my son could hear the man next door snoring and coughing which kept him awake a bit. Overall a nice place though for a few nights stay.

Room smelt a bit damp and the shower had no hot water. Thank goodness for the manager who allowed me to use the staff shower, but even that was red hot or freezing cold

A gem of a hotel in a fab location
The Acorn Hotel is a little gem. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcoming face. Room was spotless and had everything needed, even loved the additional touch of the ghd straighteners and hairdryer. Alan was a fantastic host and takes care of everything, even cooking breakfast. Location was perfect for our needs, about 10 min walk to the Hydro and 15 mins into the shopping centre of the city. Would happily recommend and can't wait to book again.

Dear Steven, Thank you for your feedback. We are surprised and disappointed by your review score following your recent stay with us. You requested to use our lock box for guests arriving after 10p.m. You were issued with the lock box code and instructions as you were aware that reception closed at 10p.m. The lock box system has operated successfully for over 10 years and without issue from our guests. You emailed on your day of arrival to say that you were unable to operate the box with the code you had been issued. Both Duty Managers and the Owner checked the box and found it to be operating perfectly using the same code you had been issued. As a gesture of goodwill you were fully refunded the cost of the first night of your stay. You then checked in the following day with no issue. You were messaged via our in house guest satisfaction system during your stay where you did not respond with any issues. Both Duty Managers were on duty during your stay with whom you both interacted yet did not highlight any problems. Best Regards Reception

We loved the kind, informative and friendly service from all staff. We loved our room and facilities within it. We loved our breakfast both mornings - great choices both cooked and cold buffet. We loved the area - nice walks, the fabulous Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, its close proximity to the SEC and the Armadillo, great eateries nearby in Finnieston and indeed a lovely bar and bistro underneath the hotel. We loved its position which was only15 minutes walk to the centre of the city. We would love to stay again in the future.

Great room. Lovely decor and original features. Only criticisms. Room was quite hot and couldn’t change radiator. Also was next to stairs and near front door which was a bit noisy. Would definitely stay again indifferent room

I chose this property for it's location. We were able to walk to a lot of attractions and sights. Alan was delightful. He was very attentive and pleasant. He makes a wonderful Scottish breakfast.

Lovely small hotel.
Lovely small hotel in a great location to explore Glasgow. Very helpful staff and a good breakfast. Parking available just outside for £4 a day extra (free @the weekend) When I return to Glasgow I will certainly stay here again.
