Gives away your room and lies. Beware
This place will give away your room and lie about it. Do not stay with them. I saw all the reviews that said the same thing, I thought it was just a bad coincidence but they did it to us. We got worried the day of, called and called and finally got a hold of them. They said there were no more rooms. We told them we already made a reservation. They said there was a fire. Big lie just to get you to go away. We ended up cancelling our trip to cooperstown because we couldn’t find another stay nearby. Called hotels.ca and they did not help. They told me to deal with hotel directly. Really don’t appreciate that careless approach to supporting and protecting your customers

I booked a room to get there and they didn’t have a room for me So I had to go 30 minutes away and stay Not very happy at all No convenience for me I would have only been a mile from where I needed to be instead of a half hour

The room was nasty the place is run down the rooms don’t look nothing like the pictures at all the motel told Expedia I never checked in but they refunded my money for the dogs but I didn’t check in so they told Expedia not to refund my money I will get it today going to my bank

This was the worst reservation experience we've ever had. After Budget had sent two or three messages, through Expedia, addressing this reservation, on arrival they denied they had one for us, and denied that they ever took reservations. After a few angry words, and offering to show them the emails on my phone, we sat outside in the rain, calling other local lodging, when a different manager came out and said they could get a room ready for us, if we left and got something to eat. On returning, than had a pretty awful room ready, that had a constantly leaking, noisy, toilet, and so little hot water that a bath was cold by the time it was deep enough to bathe.

We didn't like ANYTHING. The ammonia smell was so bad that it made our eyes water. Then between the mildew, mold, dirty towel on the floor, mildew comforter on a dirty bed, we didn't even bring one thing in. One of the workers had unlocked our room for us and walked to the bathroom at the far side if the room so he could put some washclothes in there, so we know he seen the entire room; he left without noticing a single problem with the room. We left and went to another hotel & they were not agreeable on reimbursing us despite the endless number of things wrong with the property.

Due to COVID-19 we have to use products which destroy viruses. We check for mildew, and will not rent rooms with such issues. We apologize for your experience, but still cannot find the issues you referencing here.

Do not stay here! We made a reservation 7 months before our stay. My wife and I were riding our bicycles along the Erie Canal trail and this place was one of our scheduled stops. We arrive after riding 44 miles and the owner/manager/whatever came outside and said they have no rooms. We tell her we have a reservation. She didn't even check her computer and just repeats she has no rooms. She then launches into an ever-changing story about the reason she doesn't have a room. These range from how sites like Hotels.com shouldn't exist (?), to how one room doesn't have a toilet (there was a toilet upside down in front of the place, nice!). We ended up having to ride another 23 miles to find a hotel in Amsterdam. Also, do yourself a favor and look at the "5-star" reviews. They all look a little suspect to me.

While you did not stay here, the reason for not getting a room was a lightening storm which caused electricity to be unavailable for period of time. There is maintenance work going on and so toilets ect. do get removed to rebuild bathrooms, but a room with work being done will not be rented out.

We booked on Orbitz and our friend booked a room directly. When our friend arrived they only had one room. They canceled our reservation and gave it to our friend. We went to another location so please make sure we are not charged for this room.

I couldn't leave my room because the door wouldn't lock from the outside. Early in the morning i was sleeping and some opened my door! I was horrified! It's a sketchy place. TV was leaning against the wall too.

The room was dirty and locks were broken. There was bugs in the room, grim on the floor and chairs. There was crazy mildew on the air conditioner. We had these loud unfriendly people next door that literally sat outside their room all day.

A drive by convinced us not to stay the night. Almost all rooms occupied by long-term residents. Stuff stored on porches. Very untidy. Old and not clean. Appears to be a scam property. People book, then arrive and I would suspect most don’t stay and lose their money because booking cancellation winds has passed. Expedia made it difficult to file a report of problems encountered so I gave up trying to request an inspection of this property. DONT BOOK!

The property is nearly always full and has been updated constantly. You cannot simply judge a property without even seeing a room inside.

There many flies I had to kill and dead ones all over! It looked clean but one never knows! They may be renovating. Many trains pass through at nite very noisy! I will never stay there again! Recommend removing them!

Yes, we are renovating. There are horse farms all over the area, and keeping the door shut to the room is essential at this time of the year. We are in the country side not the city. The rooms look clean because they are clean, they are not only cleaned but disinfected for COVID-19 using a higher grade cleaner than even most hospitals use. We are sorry about pests which come in through left open doors as we cannot control the farms from spreading sod this time of year. Neither can we control trains coming through. Maybe they should remove the rail network also.

I would sleep outside on the hard ground before I’d ever stay here again. It’s definitely the worst I’ve ever stayed at. It was sloppy looking. Bed sagged in the middle. Only two towels. No Kleenex. Had to go ask for toilet paper. Everything was old. Floors were dirty. Bathtub was stained. Staff was rude and double charged me for the room. Still trying to straighten that out. Dead mouse outside our door.

We take every concern very seriously. The Motel is a historic building and was originally the Mohawk Motor Lodge. All the rooms were redone two to three years ago. Towels, Toilet Paper have to be asked for if you need extra. Due to COVID-19, Toilet Paper is now an item you just ask for at the front desk once the whole roll which is left in the room runs out. No guest will be denied it. We are in the middle of the forest there is wildlife here. A field mouse in the parking lot can occur. They are not in any rooms as they are inspected after every guest leaves. Our Motel uses special cleaners designed to kill the COVID-19 Virus, we will not leave the floor dirty. If you saw anything on the wood floor please notify the front desk. We do not double charge guests, and any such issue will immediately be looked into. Paper towels to clean are with housing staff, once more they can be asked for some if this is needed.

Sorry to hear about this, we inspect all rooms for odors ect. and there are air filters through out the facility. We are near the Mohawk River and at this time of year the climate changes. I can assure you there is no mold in the rooms. However we take your feedback very seriously.

No room at the cat motel.
No room available when we got there even though Hotels.com says there was a room, they were full.. It is not called the OYO according to road sign. Very confusing . Feral cats(8) on the doorstep of lobby. Lobby smelled of cats. Motel clearly a residential hotel. Receptionist was pleasent but clearly confuse and felt bad. Owner was out running an errand. Owner called and left message after I booked another hotel. He wanted to semd me to thebhotel down the road from his amd pay for it, but when we drove down there to check it out at 9:45pm, lobby was closed.

I reserved this motel at 9pm on 04 July while driving back from Arizona to Maine. I arrived at 10.15pm. The room wasn't ready yet so I stood in the parking area opposite the room to wait. There were two men in the room, with the tv on, talking loudly about someone's sister getting him arrested, all while presumably cleaning the room (one did do a little sweeping). Other men, some smoking, some drinking beer, wandered in and out. Finally, a young man joined them, in droopy sweatpants (no underwear), no shirt, no shoes, drinking a beer, and smoking. It was obvious that these men live there which appears to be more homeless shelter/meth crash pad than an actual motel. I did not feel safe here and, once the third guy joined them and was smoking in the room (I had reserved non-smoking), I told the manager, who was standing outside as well and knew all of this was going on, that I was not going to stay and handed him the key. Ten minutes later from a small pull-out alongside the NY Thruway, I contacted Hotels.com and spent an hour on Chat with a representative trying to get my money back. The room was non-refundable but, since the motel could not accommodate me with a non-smoking room (being full of cigarette smoke while it was being cleaned), I felt justified in asking for the refund. Unfortunately, the manager refused.

Hotel cancelled not me
I had a reservation at this hotel, received a text message the morning of my reservation staying that they could not honor my reservation to call their call center. The man that final answered the phone, did not ask for my name not reservation number but kept reassuring me that my reservation was still in place. I contacted Hotels.com, the agent tried to call to confirm the reservation and evetual came back and said they had a very difficult conversation with them and that I needed to relocate. I was not guaranteed a refund even since this was cancelled on their end and not initiated by me.

We are not aware of any showers or sinks not working here, as will not rent such rooms out. We checked and the shower and sink are both working in the room you were in.. If you had trouble operating them you could call the front desk we would have helped immediately.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Upon checking in. the desk attendee barely spoke English or understood what I was saying. She then proceeded ask how much I paid and laughed when I told her (as she showed me a cheaper price). She gave me my key and when I went to open the door the bed was unmade, there ere WET towels on the floor and table chair along with shoes by the dresser. Clearly someone was staying there. Did I mention that that the bed was dirty and had bugs in it - yes, it was unmade and looked slept in. This place is disgusting!!! There was no way I was going to stay there - I closed the door got in my car and left immediately.

Though we respect every customer that comes here, there are certain scenarios that simply cannot happen here. First of all every person behind the desk has a college degree and we all can speak English and at least one or two other languages. Because of the ethnic background of person, such things should not be said, it is racism and really not acceptable. If the front desk person could not speak English, how did they show a lower a price? And what benefit is that to the Motel? It is impossible that you would enter a room with wet towels and then check the bed. As an occupied room cannot be rented. In such an event a person would come to the front desk, and immediately question the situation. This is of course if such a situation existed. In reality the issue was that you could not arrive and we could not offer cancelation.

It is impossible for dog hair or bugs to be in the room, as the room's sheets, pillow cases and comforters are changed when a guest leaves. The floor is cleaned with germicidal. There simply is no way not to find dog hair after all this. If the issues were present than you should have notified the manager immediately. This is why we take you to your room, and walk you in. This was done in your case.

The room needed a renovation. The mattresses were covered with plastic. The bathroom fixtures needed updating and attention for a dripping faucet in the tub, that must have been leaking for some time. The lighting was harsh. The fridge worked.

Sorry to hear about your experience. We will state that we have a multi zone camera system and survey the property. There has never been any incident here involving any guest in the 3 years, I have been here. No guest has ever even reported anything missing. The long term rentals here are construction companies and other businesses. All our guest units were redone in 2016. We are nearly always booked up as well.

Driving up to the property it was very obvious that there were people actually living there, not just staying a few nights. The room itself was not bad, but the bathroom plumbing dripped constantly, there was mold in the exhaust fan and it was tiny. There was a connecting door to the room next to us that was not very securely blocked off (we could even see light coming through from underneath!) and the main door to our room was not tightly sealed or very secure. All in all, my children and I did not feel very safe staying here.

There are cameras all over the property. All doors ude a digital key. We will look and see about this bathroom fan and replace it if necessary. I glad that you found the room ok. The Hotel has construction and maintenance crews which stay some months while their projects are going on. Only staff really could be said to live here. The property is patrolled at night as well, though you would not have noticed this, unless you paid close attention. We make sure the property is safe.

The first important thing is that the Hotel is listed as the M Star Hotel in Canajoharie, but the sign says "Budget Inn". This is also how it is listed from the freeway. "We haven't got anyone to change the sign yet" according to the owner. The second thing is that the Office is often closed and locked. When checking out we twice had to leave a note on our door and the keys lying inside on the bed. Canajoharie is not a wealthy area, and a few simple updates would have given this hotel a higher rating.

Road sign still says Budget Inn. No mention of M Star anywhere to be seen. Bed was substandard. Other end of hotel has rooms rented on a monthly basis. Tenants sitting outside in the heat. Room air conditioner was noisy

Thanks for your review. One side of the Hotel is rented by construction companies, and by a large retailer for their employees. Those rooms are the same as guest rooms. They like to Barbeque in the summer and therefore stay out a bit at night. They have A/C's and all of the same accommodations. We will look into the mattress.

Thanks for your comments, we would indeed wish you had informed the front desk of any odd smell, as we do not allow smoking of any kind in any of our rooms. Additionally, there is housekeeping services here including laundry from 11:00 A.M. until 11:00 P.M. All you had to do was either call or come to the lobby. We have CCD cameras all over the property the manager also lives on the property. The Beds are new in many rooms and they are firm.
