Beautiful area, friendly staff, run down facility

Posted 18-Oct-2014
Scenery gorgeous, rooms functional, with old furniture and a slightly musty smell. Does not qualify for term "resort" but a beautiful place to ski. Staff friendly.

Not what I expected for the price.

Posted 22-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
I could have stayed at Holiday Inn for half the price, better conditions and service. My partner left her prescription glasses in the room, called the front desk and after a week, they still have not sent back her glasses. This is a major inconvenience for her because she cannot see without them. I hope she doesn't get into an injury accident from her squinting to try and drive. Poor customer service = no repeat business from our family!

Not clean and needs to be updated

Posted 22-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Unless you must play golf here and there's no other place to stay AND you're planning to come and go to your room in the dark, don't stay here. I stayed here bc the rates were too high in Traverse City for a short-notice reservation. Still-it was way over-priced for what I got. This was one of the most filthy places I've ever stayed at. For instance, the toilet bowl was dirty and the table tops needed to be wiped down. The decor needs to be updated from the 70's-wallpaper, drapes and carpet. The room was very dark with dark paneling as well as trees in front of the windows and poor lighting. You could walk out the unit to the parking lot but there was trash outside the door and the grounds were not maintained. We went to the restaurant across the parking lot. The food was fine and the views from our table at the window were excellent and more in keeping of what you'd expect from a resort environment.

Bed like a brick!

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: Nice staff! Food in Sports bar good!
Cons: Bed comfort!
Needed a room in the area and chose to stay as an overnight hotel guest at this golf resort. Other than the fact the bed was like (not) sleeping on a brick, the place was ok. Come for golf, bring an air mattress to put on the bed if you like some comfort. Maybe I just didn't drink enough beer to pass out on the bed. Hotel Inn was something of a semi-rustic motel with lots of wood. A lot of the wood could use some more stain. I'll come back to play golf but will stay someplace else.

Nice facility. We were in the old "Inn" and did not look around the new section, but overall is was a nice experience. We are not golfers - but the grounds were absolutely beautiful!!

Lovely resort, bad room.

Posted 28-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
We were very disappointed in the condition of our room at the Treetops Resort in Gaylore, MI. We would have expected that such a highly-rated hotel would have GREAT rooms, but that was not the case with ours. There were cobwebs in two corners, dust bunnies under the air conditioner, un-vacuumed threads on the floor, and the windows were filthy. The "high traffic" areas of the carpeting were just plain dirty, so much so that we wanted to keep our shoes on in the room. The sink was stained, the door and baseboards were banged up. The shower ran either freezing cold or scalding hot. We stayed in a one-star hotel the night before, and it was cleaner and more satisfactory, and a third of the price.
