just a disappointment

Posted 26-May-2015
Pros: Beautiful golf course setting.
Cons: Renovation required.
The hotel was not full, but in spite of that we were put in a lower floor room where the view was of the back of the 6' high fence surrounding the pool. It was also right next to the pump for the pool/ hottub, so all we could hear all night was the gurgling of water. The hot tub/ pool area is open until midnight and walls were extremely thin - it was possible to hear conversations through the wall. The corridors and room in general were dingy and aged and in need of renovation. There was mould in the shower.

Good enough for the convenience of slope-side

Posted 21-Jan-2015 on Hotels
If you are looking for the Shangri-la, then this isn't for you. If you are looking for a decent, slope-side place to put your head between ski runs then this is more than functional and economical. The pool is outstanding. It was clean, large, and very warm. Yes Treetops is outdated and in need of updating, but it's a little rustic and has enough charm to make it worth the stay. The room was clean, the beds firm, towels and pillows a-plenty. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. We will stay here again if the price is right.

Get away close to home

Posted 30-Dec-2014
Overall our stay was good. Welcoming feel, clean room, comfortable beds. Website was difficult to operate and conflicting restaurant menus are found throughout the website and resort. We couldn't figure out how to enter the Hunters Grille so ended up dining at Legends. Service was nothing to brag about. The food was tasty though overpriced for the atmosphere and service that we received. With a little more attention to detail the resort could be top notch.

too much money for the off season.

Posted 01-Nov-2014 on Hotels
Loud noise in room, sounded like the ice machine was in the room. Jets on whirl pool bathtub did not work-no instructions on how to work it. Room was very hot. Nice balcony off the room; but could not enjoy it because there was no chairs outside to use.

Beautiful area, friendly staff, run down facility

Posted 18-Oct-2014
Scenery gorgeous, rooms functional, with old furniture and a slightly musty smell. Does not qualify for term "resort" but a beautiful place to ski. Staff friendly.

Not what I expected for the price.

Posted 22-Aug-2014 on Hotels
I could have stayed at Holiday Inn for half the price, better conditions and service. My partner left her prescription glasses in the room, called the front desk and after a week, they still have not sent back her glasses. This is a major inconvenience for her because she cannot see without them. I hope she doesn't get into an injury accident from her squinting to try and drive. Poor customer service = no repeat business from our family!

Not clean and needs to be updated

Posted 22-Aug-2014 on Hotels
Unless you must play golf here and there's no other place to stay AND you're planning to come and go to your room in the dark, don't stay here. I stayed here bc the rates were too high in Traverse City for a short-notice reservation. Still-it was way over-priced for what I got. This was one of the most filthy places I've ever stayed at. For instance, the toilet bowl was dirty and the table tops needed to be wiped down. The decor needs to be updated from the 70's-wallpaper, drapes and carpet. The room was very dark with dark paneling as well as trees in front of the windows and poor lighting. You could walk out the unit to the parking lot but there was trash outside the door and the grounds were not maintained. We went to the restaurant across the parking lot. The food was fine and the views from our table at the window were excellent and more in keeping of what you'd expect from a resort environment.
