“Awesome hotel!”

we loved our stay at the Solaria. they let us check out an hour late without a charge. they have free bike rentals and a free computer with internet at the desk. the only problem it closes at 6:00. davos is a wonderful place and this hotel is quietly set apart from the hustle and bustle. if you stay in the summer, you get free tram passes and bus passes. we wish it would have been one queen instead of 2 twins, but thats okay. balcony overlooking mountains on every room. magical!

Area recommendations

Its not by the 'nightlife stuff' so if you want that stay in davos platz. we want to go back!

“Excellent value - good budget alternative to hotels”

Rooms have basic furnishing but clean and comfortable. Fridge, hob, toaster, kettle all in good working order, providing everything we needed for a light breakfast. Cleaning products provided. Power shower very refreshing. 10 minute walk to local bars and restaurants. 15 minutes to Parsenn Funicular Hourly bus service seemed reliable, but we preferred the walk. Ski hire from Parsenn sports highly recommended. Locker system allowed us to leave skis and boots in the shop, so the walk to the Solaria was no problem.

The local bars were quiet in January, but we can recommend the Egg Bar (where Dischmastrasse meets the Promenade) and downstairs at the Dischma Hotel as friendly places for a few drinks. Evening meals at the Dischma, the Meirhof, and Golden Dragon Chinese (in Platz) all highly recommended, although the latter 2 in particular were quite pricy. Self catered breakfasts allowed us to fully enjoy waiter served lunches in the mountain restaurants. Gruobenalp, Schifer and Chesetta all excellent. The truffle ravioli at the Chesetta was my personal favourite.

“Solaria is an efficiency apartment, rather than a hotel.”

The apartment was compact, but functional and looked just like the photos. The swiss furniture is tiny and not very comfortable. You could borrow microwaves, toasters, racklettes and fondu pots from the main desk and we enjoyed cooking, rather than eating in the local restaurants where the food was unvaried and expensive. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Schöne Lage in der Peripherie zwischen Davos Bahnhof und Davos Platz. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverh”

Zuerst von aussen etwas entäuscht, innen sehr sauber, gutes Apartment-Design, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, etwas hellhörig, zuerst erschien die Lage etwas in der Peripherie, aber auf den 2. Blick sehr zentral. Das am Samstag das Einchecken zeitlich limitiert ist, geht eigentlich gar nicht, besonders für Kongressteilnehmer. Trotzdem gerne wieder.

“Goede uitvalsbasis voor bergwandelingen”

Dit appartementencomplex is ideaal voor trekkende toeristen zoals wij. Het is een goede uitvalsbasis voor bergwandelingen en het appartement was het geld dubbel en dwars waard. Daarnaast kregen we een toeristenkaart waarmee je gratis gebruik kon maken van de kabelbanen.
