“Will definitley return on next GR trip”
I have now visited GR twice in the past 5 weeks and as my business continues to grow in this region will make the JW Marriott my GR home.
“Very eloquent 5 star hotel”
This establish cares about it's appearance and cleanliness of the rooms. The only thing I would recommend adding to the stay is a spa treatment. The location is great, there are two museums nearby and a few restaurants.
“Will return.”
Great service and amenities. This is my second time here and I'll come back when I'm in town. Too bad parking is expensive; hotel guests' parking tickets should be validated. Convenient location; there's an eating place that opens until late right across the hotel. I especially enjoy the river view and the fact that you can walk on the boardwalk.
“Ran out of hot water!”
We stayed for a two night get-away and were very impressed with the facility. Unfortunately, there were many loud partiers in the hallway and in the adjacent rooms. We called security twice during the middle of the night due to the noise and things quieted down for a while each time. We were very disappointed with our lack of rest and left the hotel at the end of our stay exhausted. On top of that, our shower had no hot water in the morning! After complaining to the manager upon checkout, we were offered two free nights to make up for the invconvenience. We're not in a hurry to return!
“Good and bad”
So the hotel was beautiful, decor was excellent, the hotel restaraunt and bar however were overly crowded so we ate in the room. The food was however amazing and well worth the price. I'm not sure how well the room had been cleaned though... we found a peanut M&M in the middle of the floor in plain sight, so you be the judge. Otherwise the room was fine. However the bed wasn't comfortable and we had two choices of pillows rock hard or so soft you lay your head down and the pillow flattens to where your head lays on the mattress. Needless to say, I literally wasn't able to sleep due to that and quickly checked out once morning came. But the hotel itself and the food were good! heh. Just bring your own pillows.
“Great except for adjoining room neighbors”
Service was great , room very clean and upscale. I would have given all 5's but unfortunately the men in the adjoining room came back to their room extremely drunk , loud and obnoxious early in the morning on two occasions(approx 1 am and 3 am). I was staying with my 12 yr old son as a guys night out and so he got an unwelcome education on some new curse words and they frightened him a bit. I called down to the front desk the second time and they sent security up immediately which was appreciated. No more problems after that. I got a nice card under my door the next morning apologizing for the inconvenience. This was not really the hotel's fault but it did taint my stay.
“Best hotel in Grand Rapids”
We loved this hotel! View from our room was incredible. Service was excellent. Our room was very clean and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of getting their job done and being invisible at the same time. We traveled with our five year old and found everyone to be very helpful. Restaurant food was excellent and bar service great. We were pleasantly surprised and are planning a returnn trip next summer.
“Great Grand Rapids hotel”
This is a great hotel. Love the modern decor, I definitely felt like I was in a luxurious room. The bathroom was fantastic with the stand up shower and separate tub. Very well designed. Great location, and I would definitely recommend to others and come back again.
“Nice location”
One thing that concerned us was the mini bar that we had emptied to use for our own items. There was no notice on the door but we found the price list later with fine print stating that removing and replacing items would mean charges were incurred. We called down to the desk and there were no charges but why not just state so somewhere more obvious? Otherwise, it was a nice hotel with a great pool for kids. I am disappointed that the Starbucks was only open until the afternoon.
“Fun, contemporary atmosphere”
The ultra-modern hotel lobby transforms into a trendy extension of the hotel's bar/lounge after-hours. We wanted a drink in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to find so many other people hanging out in this beautiful lounge overlooking the RiverWalk and museums. There was no need to go out to a trendy bar or bistro -- it was right there in the hotel! Also, the hotel staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful, overall a great place to stay.
