Great alternative for convention attendees

Location: Several wonderful museums just steps away!
I was attending a national music gathering. This hotel is very conveniently located, just a few minutes walk across one of the footbridges to convention center. But it was a quieter and calmer alternative to the other hotels closer to De Vos Place and I slept very well each night after those busy days. I also love the "greenness" of this Holiday Inn, and there seems to be a real intentionality about it, far beyond all the signs and reminders That is something very important to me. The staff was highly professional and very pleasant and welcoming I also enjoyed the Pearl Street Grill offerings. I am a vegetarian and it is not always easy to find good vegi-friendly meals at reasonable prices in restaurants attached to hotels. good job, HI Grand Rapids!

Came here to relax and got the Opposite...

Pros: The parking and WIFI are included.
Location: The Museum is nearby.
We checked in at the holiday inn and Brandon was polite and professional. Then, we went to our room which smelled awful. It smelled like old musty sewage. We had already unpacked and we thought the smell might air out and weren't trying to be problematic. After not sleeping well the first night, we informed the guest services. The lady she said she would let the maid service know about this. The maid service came and the smell was still there, nothing changed. Called the front desk and the staff let us check into a new room. The room was so much better! That night we put our breakfast sign on door at 10pm (well before the cutoff) and the next day it was still there hanging on our door. Called the staff and they made up for it by having us dine in the restaurant comped. I wonder if the server saw our complimentary card?? because she did not come to our table for 10 minutes. Then, 10 minutes after that, she took our drink orders. The restaurant was not busy, lots of empty tables, and the table next to us came in after and had gotten drinks instantly. it was about 15 minutes after that we got our orange juice. There was no apology or explanation for the wait. The food was not good at all. See for yourself. Overall: Overall, the hotel is old, needs some updating. The furniture looks ancient. More importantly, the front desk staff is very nice and professional. Pet friendly: Yes. Unfortunately, not much grass for pets. Food: The restaurant food was below av

In town for a conference

I stayed for 2 nights for a local conference. This hotel is in a great location and is a great facility. The staff was great and I have no issues whatsoever with the hotel or my stay. Will stay here again if I return to town.

Convenient Location

The hotel appears to need a little updating. The cover on the air-conditioning unit was not on it tightly and there were some patched areas in the walls. There was no microwave or fridge in the room. The room smelled a somewhat musty. None of these were "deal breakers" but I was expecting a little nicer room for the cost. Parking was free and convenient. Hotel was in walking distance of the downtown area. The pool was small and near the elevator. The dining room offered good food for a reasonable price. When we needed help with something in our room, a maintenance person was promptly dispatched and completed the work in a professional manner. I would probably stay there again.

You'll need ear plugs

Pros: Nicely appointed, polite staff.
Cons: Noise dampening windows.
The hotel is located directly next to the main highway. Traffic noise kept me up all night.

For your next stay, I would definitely recommend one of our King Location rooms - they are in the corner of our building farthest from the expressway, and boast a beautiful view of Downtown Grand Rapids! Good hotel close to downtown core

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room condition was good. While the room was clean, that bathtub drained very slowly. Unfortunately, they had lost my tag for the express breakfast and by the time it was found it ended up being almost 30mins late. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

街の中心から少しだけ離れて、川の向こう側に立地していますが、歩いてすぐなので、不便なことはありませんでした。その分、他のホテルより価格が抑えられている気がします。近くに美術館や公園があって、散歩するには良かったです。朝食が無料ではなく有料のようだったので、予約時にご注意ください。

Nice but I would have expected better

my trip was for business: filming a commercial for a corporate client. the hotel restaurant is more like a Detroit Coney Island restaurant with a school cafeteria setting; not what i would have expected from this style of hotel. The food was OK, not great or anything to rave about. But the service was pleasant; they were very slow and I was the only one there after 7pm. the room was nice but the bed was hard. the shower was slippery and did not any slip-guards on the bottom. the choice of in-room coffee was bland and flavorless.
