“All night party in next room!”
We were on the 5th floor. Parties in rooms on both sides of us .. first one side, which died down after a while; and then 3:00 am a group of 8 started a party on the other side of us. Called the desk who said they would send security. Half hour later called again and they said they were busy on another call. Finally after 45 minutes of it feeling like the party was in our room, security came and removed all but the two people staying in the room. By then, of course, we were wide awake. These things happen. What was frustrating was when we checked out in the morning and complained, the hotel offered nothing. No free breakfast. No reduction on the room rate. Even a hearty apology would have settled the matter. But nothing. They asked if we'd called (we had); if security came (they did); and if that took care of the problem (it did). Well, okay then. But the hotel is to provide a comfortable night's sleep. If matters beyond their control prevent that, they should at least offer up some sort of compensation, and certainly an apology.
“Grand Rapids, MI”
Clean, nice place to stay. Had a business trip that I need to attend and this hotel was right near my meeting.
“Convenient Location”
The Courtyard at Marriott was very convenient, located within walking distance to downtown restaurants and entertainment. There is a skywalk connecting the hotel to the DeVos Performance Hall and Van Andel Arena, which was great since we were there for a concert at DeVos. Only weaknesses: parking garage was a little confusing, and the only hotel restaurant is bistro style with a limited selection.
“Location, location, location”
Location was key to why my fiance and I chose to stay here during a long weekend trip to Grand Rapids. Though the hotel staff and cleanliness of our room were excellent, we will likely try another hotel when visiting again. Why? 1) This hotel is one of three located quite close to each other. We ruled out the least expensive one because it was on the other side of the river, not realizing that there are several pedestrian bridges that would allow for safe and convenient passage. 2) The hotel does not have enough parking, and the parking garages are set up in a cramped, confusing way. We didn't want to take our car out of the garage because we were afraid of trying to find a spot again. Getting into the hotel from the parking garage was also pretty inefficient. 3) Hotel floor hallways were dark and maze-like. 4) This is a mixed-use building and there seemed to be a wide variety of people wandering the hallways, sometimes loudly and/or drunkenly, in search of various amenities. We even saw the cops in the halls. 4) I'm not usually one to notice, but the style of the room was rather varied and slightly off-putting. For example, the bathroom had a luxurious brown granite vanity with upscale lighting feature, but it was juxtaposed with a small, cheap coffeemaker and a traditional white tiled bathtub with a cute cloth shower curtain and vinyl liner that were both too long. 5) Not all the features of the exercise equipment functioned and the stair climber didn't work at all.
“great staff”
I forgot one of my bags and they were more than helpful when I called them. this hotel was updated last year and it shows.
“Princess Diana Visit”
The hotel was great. The only real issue we had was parking. The Courtyard Suite lot was full so we had to park in another lot. Access to the parking lot was fine, except the walkway system was like being in a hamster cage. The walkway took us in a very odd route. It was much easier to walk down the street and go to the parking structure.
“Great Location for Van Andel Sow”
The hotel was a great location for the show at Van Andel the only issue was the 2 double beds we had were a little small and not the most comfortable.
“Nicely located property”
I stayed overnight prior to running a 5K in Muskegon and then watching my son in the MHSAA Track finals. Everything was great!
“Really friendly staff”
I could have had a better view.
“Great stay!”
We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food in the lounge was great! The location is the best thing about this hotel. It is located just a short walk to all of the hottest bars and clubs.
