“Return Customer”

I had to go back to Grand Rapids for business and chose the Amway Grand based on my last enjoyable visit. I was not disappointed!

“Grand stay at an historic hotel”

I expected the Grand to be dated and short on amenities but I was wrong. The hotel had every convenience I hope for and parden the pun It was Grand. I would go back for sure.

“Service impeccable”

Rooms smallish, especially bathrooms could have been larger and nicer. However, very clean and comfortable. Staff was excellent from the valet parking to front desk to maid service. Enjoyed the stay, but slightly overpriced.

“We didn't want to leave.”

Our room was beautiful, and quite spacious. We were given a barrier-free room, so we had double doors into the marbled and mirrored bathroom. The bath towels were larger than out beach towels at home! Beds were turned down, while we were out in the evening, with chocolates on a tray. All the employees we came in contact with were super friendly, like they were...having fun, even! My husband and I shared our room with our two teenage daughters, typically this would have been a crowded situation...but we had more than enough room and honestly, I really wish we would have booked at least one more night. We're hoping to come stay again soon.

“Pretentious”

Overpaid for a room on the concierge level. [Yawn.,,,] They had this boring little room where you could have cocktails and crackers. All the stores close early....got turned away from a full bar at 11pm on Thursday because they were closing...then got charged a $250 smoking fee for burning incense. The new Marriott looked much better.

“Very Convenient for Concert-Goers”

The hotel is a wonderful place to stay! We were treated like royalty, and stayed in the older part of the hotel which is beautiful! The only complaint was not having a coffee maker in the room for morning... The proximaty to downtown venues was a plus...being able to walk the skyway to a concert without even having to go outside was great!!! Can't wait to go back!

The sports bar had a great variety of quick yummy food, even the vegetarian in the group found something that she liked! The onion rings were very memorable!

“not impressed”

The Lobby and the stores and dining around the first floor were fine. The standard rooms were very small, did not have a minibar or refrigerator, internet service was by the day and expensive, parking was costly. The service was very good but the hotel accounting computer was down when I checked out and I did not receive my bill until I returned home. Then I had to have it corrected as they had charged me for valet service I did not use and an extra night. So it ended poorly because of the accounting errors and the hassle to get it corrected.
