“Would definitely stay there again”

Convenient location to Grand Canyon. The restaurant and amenities were great. The room was clean and tidy and the bed was very cosy! Great hotel for kids too.

“Hotel- nice, room-fair”

Nice hotel, friendly, capable service. Restaurant prices way too high. Five-star prices for a three-star restaurant. Rooms had bare necessities but clean. Close to the Grand Canyon.

Area recommendations
Yes. On main street and close to Grand Canyon.
Comment from the hotel's management
Thanks for staying with us at the Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon. In regards to your comments we are rolling out a new menu in early March 2012. We will be offering more variety which includes lower priced options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We appreciate all feedback and make adjustments when feedback is provided.

“Would not stay there again.”

Hotel in a very remote location, but quite understandable as it really is in the middle of nowhere, but only a very short drive to the Grand Canyon National Park, which was an amazing place. Scenery very pretty in surrounding areas. Lots of noise from road works which were taking place directly outside the hotel. Hotel staff not very friendly or welcoming even though we arrived late in the evening after a very long, tiring drive from Las Vegas. Very disappointing. Hotel facilities limited. No information in room as to what facilities they did offer to guests. Concierge desk was mostly unmanned so had to find our own way around the area. Reception staff either very busy or busy talking to each other! Hotel restaurant was not good, food not to our taste and very over priced. Unfortunately, not much else in the nearby area to choose from, so very limited in choice for eating out. We stayed for four nights at The Grand but two would have been plenty. There really is nothing to do there apart from visiting the Grand Canyon. However, onsite parking was free, so a bit of a bonus, but overall, hotel was overpriced for what it was. The style of the hotel was OK but rooms need renovation and as there is not much to do unless you like drinking in bars, it would have been nice to have been able to watch some TV in the room. They were having some trouble with reception so all you could see were white lines across the screen. Reception told us there was nothing they could do.

Area recommendations
The Grand Canyon. This is the main reason why anyone would stay in this town as it is only a short drive to the Grand Canyon National Park. This in an amazing place and you can visit again the next day if you wish and won't have to pay an entry fee again, very good value. Too beautiful for words, seeing is believing, it takes your breath away!
Getting there
We drove from Las Vegas, but it was a long tiring drive. A car is a must, we would not have seen so much of the Canyon without it.
Getting around
Hiring a vehicle is highly recommended.
What to pack
Light weight clothing and warm outer wear. It can get cold really quicky, so dress in layers. Waterproof outer wear is also a must have.

“would stay there again most comfortable bed, clean room”

The hotel was clean and room clean and nicely decorated. The main lobby was very nice as well and my husband said it was the best breakfast of our trip. It is close to the Grand canyon easy to find.

When to go
We went in november and it was cool but good as not too crowded

“Can't wait for another Grand Canyon Adventure”

This hotel is excellent value if you can't get a reservation inside the park. It's just a few miniutes from the park entrance. Ask for a room facing the pines. The rooms are freshly furnished and very comfortable and well coordinated. I'm generally a design snob, but even I could handle faux 'Western' themed decor. Staff were very pleasant and allowed us early check in, and offered to help when my car battery froze from the cold. Restaurant food is so-so, but the nightly entertainment makes it worth while. Check out the Yippee Yi Oh restaurant up the street.

“Comfortable hotel”

We stayed here after driving to the Grand Canyon from Vegas ( a 5 hour drive, never to be repeated!!) My wife was poorly after the drive, due to dehydration as the GC is high allegedly. The staff at the hotel were very helpful with advice, tablets, food and drinks. She recovered by lying in the darkened bedroom, we then ventured out to the Grand Canyon which was spectacular. In the evening we ate in the Restaurant and listened to Buck(?) who sat on the small stage, and played his banjo, sang and played occasional harmonica. It was delightful, and had a real feel of the Wild West. You half expected Clint Eastwood to come through a swinging door at any moment. The room was comfortable and just what we needed, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Area recommendations
The Grand Canyon is the obvious attraction in this area and the reason that we stayed in the hotel overnight before our marathon drive back to Vegas. It is amazing, all pinks and coppers due to the sun going down over the Canyon when we saw it.

“Enjoyed our stay!”

The Grand Hotel was very nice and we enjoyed staying there. We had 3 rooms and all agreed that on our vacation travels, the Grand had the most comfortable beds and was indeed our favorite hotel!! Very convenient to the Grand Canyon South Rim as well.
