“nice place with very good location got my money worth”

no one bad word great run hotel

Area recommendations
we just come to see the Alhambra and have some tea and water pipe,we went into the hills for some flamenco shows but they do not compare to the ones in Seville but they are right by it by local bus
When to go
the prime place is the Alhambra and the best time of the year is early spring or early fall the crowds are smaller and the prime time you need to book way ahead and they rush you thru,in off season they late you take you time and you actually need about 3 hours to see the places but in some places you need to clime up lots of stairs the other thing is to go to the Arabic area but being older and bad knees the climb is murder it is about 45 minutes non stop walking on a 30 or 45 degree angle and there are no side walks you can have a hearth attack but next to the hotel next to it on the right side you can get the same idea the flamingo is not worth seeing

“Wish we could have stayed two nights Oct. 13th, 2011!”

We booked 3 months ahead and wish we had planned more time to stay here. Nice clean room(#302) in an antique building on the 3rd floor overlooking the plaza with a balcony. Across from a street that leads to The Alhambra, a 20 walk up challenging hills. Breakfast buffet optional with Serrano ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, cereals, breads, yogurt, juices, coffee, etc. Staff very friendly, some English spoken and with a little Spanish homework(being able to count to 10, please & thank you, and of course, where is?), you'll get along just fine and enjoy this wonderful city. We bought good Rioja wine all over southern Spain in wine stores $6.03 - $8.71 a bottle. Restaurants might be14-30 euros. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks so much. Hasta luego!

Area recommendations
Arriving at 5 p.m. with jet lag and only one night to stay and the following morning, we couldn't see or do what we normally do. We admired the architecture of the old city, enjoyed a meal with people watching and crashed at 12:30 a.m.

“Great location for touring Sevilla”

Hotel is hard to find at first, but is a gem. Hotel is surrounded by restaurants and shops and super close to the Cathedral and other landmarks. Staff was very friendly and speak English. Hotel rooms are very small and could use a paint job, but for sleeping and running around all day, it fits the bill.

“Convenient & Great Price for a Granada Viist”

This hotel is located right at Plaza Nueva, the main square of Granada. It is within walking distance to most of the major attractions and places of note. The room itself is quite clean, and the washroom was pleasantly more spacious than expected. My room also had a small balcony that overlooked the square - it was a great experience being in the thick of the action but from a vantage point! Granada is a beautiful place and living in a such a convenient location in the heart of it all really helps make your vacation rewarding. Just one warning, the sheets are a little thin so do not turn on the air conditioning too low when you sleep!

Area recommendations
Would highly recommend living at or near Plaza Nueva if you plan on going to Granada due to its convenience. Granada is not a large city and most of the major points of note are withing walking distance of the Plaza. Walking is the best way to see Granada!

“Classic European hotel in a great location”

Very pleasant, classic European hotel situated right on the main plaza of historic Granada. Marble stairways, small elevator. Breakfast was furnished giving us a great start to our day. Room was not large but very clean, nice bath, good bed. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful, tolerant of our leaving luggage while we toured following check out. Taxis service was readily available on the plaza. Vehicle traffic is controlled/restricted in that part of town so be prepared to park a little distance from the hotel if you drive, but it is a great town to walk.

Area recommendations
If you like being right in the heart of the historic sites, being on or near Plaza Nueva is great, just tough to get to by car. The bus system is good, affordable, not to tough to figure out so being further away might be ok. Found driving to be stressful because of heavy traffic, one-way streets, construction, etc. away from the plaza. No personal experience though with other areas of Granada.
Must see
Alhambra of course. The San Nicolas viewpoint in the Albayzin with its fabulous view across the valley of Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains beyound.

“Location great, but small and dark”

I had a single room, which was truly the smallest room I have ever had in a hotel. I could deal with that (not there to be in the hotel), but I had to take the single lamp apart in the room in order to take the lamp shade off and have enough light to read by. There was a dim overhead light. My window looked out onto an airshaft. I'm not all that particular, but the coffee coming out of the machine in the breakfast room was just not drinkable. Otherwise, the breakfast was fine (extra cost). All in all because of the hotel's location, close to buses to the Albayzin and the Alhambra, I would recommend it. But if you care about the size of the room, the single one at least is miniscule, barely enough room to turn around in.

“Good Hotel”

Clean, modern, well-run. Pedro at the desk got us tour tickets to the Alhambra when it was sold out -he was very helpful and personable. All the desk staff were good. Breakfast buffet was a good price. Location can't be beat.

“Wonderful Experience”

We stayed at the Macia Plaza in April for 3 nights and loved it. Our room was spotless, the staff was very helpful, the internet worked great, and the location was fantastic - within walking distance of everything! I would highly reccommend this hotel.

Area recommendations
The big deal is the Alhambra which is fantastic. It was very difficult to get tickets so a suggestion is to go to the orange kiosk across the street from the hotel and buy a Bono Pass. It gives you a next day time for the Alhambra plus admission to all the other important sights such as the Royal Chapel and Cathedral. It also includes a number of rides on the bus.
When to go
Spring is a great time to go - very few tourists compared to the high season. In general the weather is quite nice and we ate most of our meals at outdoor cafes. Avoid Easter and the week after if you don't like crowds. It is the week of the April Fair and the cities are packed because of the festival.
Getting there
If you are arriving from Madrid (or going to Madrid afterwards) the bus and the train each take about 5 hours. There are only 2 trains a day but buses are scheduled almost every hour. About 2 times a day there is the Supra Bus which is great. It costs about half of the train rate and has an attendent on board who serves food the entire trip. First hard candies are served, then sandwiches and drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks, etc), coffee and chocolates, more drinks with snacks, and finally more hard candies. All of this is included in the price of your bus ticket. The seats are wide and comfortable - only three to a row rather than the usual bus configuration of 4 to a row. Movies are shown throughout the trip if you can take your eyes off the beautiful Spanish countryside.
