“Well Located Hotel.”
The hotel is comfortable and well located for access to The Alhambra and frequent buses into town. Used by touring groups.
“'On the Alhambra doorsteps'”
To all who wish to visit El Alhambra, this hotel is across the ticket office entrence. Very handy for the morning visit and back at your hotel if you want to dress differently for the evening visit [depending of time of year]. The bus station is about 150 metres from the hotel. it takes you downtown through narrow streets to the city center, the cathedral, bars and restaurant Or up to the Sacremonte area and the Albysin where you can enjoy the full view of the Alhambra. Last bus to return depart at 23.00 from the town or catch a taxi for just a few euros. Hotel food is average. Had dinner on my first night. Ok but nothing exiting and to continental to my liking. Good buffet breakfast with hot and cold dishes. All staff very friendly and hepful. Do expect a busy and noisy morning wake up. Tourist getting ready for excursions, tours and visiting the area. By being situated near the entrance of the Palace, the traffic can be heavy at a time. But if you go to such a fantastic city to stay laying in your bed, find yourself a DVD on Granada and stay at home. Just at the back of the hotel, turn right when your exit the main entrance, walk a few metres and you will find some steps going up and through a field of olive trees. There you will have a stunning view of Granada, the Alhambra, the snow peaks of the Sierra Nevada. Sun rise and sun set not to be miss. Overall, I will go back and stay again. Already planning to bring some friends along with me.
“Perfect location for the Alhambra, not for anything else”
This hotel is a bit out of the way. It's perfect for the Alhambra as it is right next to the entrance BUT it's a bit too far out from everything else in Granada. It's about a 15-20 minute walk into the main centre of town and the Plaza Nueva but coming back is a killer as it's all uphill!! You can get the small Alhambra buses though if you so wished. Be careful as to which floor you're on too. I was on the third floor and my view was of the ground level of the pool so all I could see was the feet of people walking around the pool and people lounging around it. I had to keep my curtains closed all the time so that people couldn't keep looking into my room. The room was very small too. You have to pay for using the internet too!! 1 euro for 15 minutes!! Granada was lovely but sadly this hotel wasn't. The staff on reception were very nice though.
“Location superb.”
We stayed for two nights next to the Alhambra in this three star hotel and were satisfied with the amenities they provided. Food was excellent, the decor needs updating, but other than that, we felt we received good value. The pool was also a nice size. Cabs in Spain are relatively cheap compared to Canada so we utilized them to get to town and to a few nice restaurants in the Jewish quarter. Coming back to the hotel is a long and steep walk. The only downside to our visit was the presence of an American group of students who monopolized the pool, brought lilquor to the pool and generally behaved as though they were the only ones there. Others at the pool felt they were poorly behaved and that this group had no travel etiquette at all. They also woke up the residents at the front of the hotel all night long returning from what it seemed to be, some kind of sex bar as their conversations and hooting and hollering seemed to be about. The hotel staff should have monitored their behavior and told them to vacate the public areas if they could not act with a modicum of civility.
“Great location and views - right near Palace”
Great location outside the gates of Alhambra. Even so area was fairly quite. Easy bus to city (I think 30 or 32) and to views overlooking palace - a must to see. There is a hotel at the bottom of the hill you can go to for a drink that overlooks the entire city.
“Great location sets the hotel apart.”
If you want to visit Alhambra, you can't do any better than this. The hotel is basically across the street from the ticket-office and entrance to Alhambra. Very clean and comfortable rooms, albeit a little small, but well worth the cost. Finding the hotel was a bit challenging, but just follow the signs all the way to the Alhambra and you'll go right to it. One other trick to keep in mind--the "desayuno libre" doesn't mean it's a free breakfast, it means you can keep going back for more for one price.
“excellent location for Alhambra”
Located so close to the Alhambra makes the hotel ideal for visitors, with very helpful staff and higher standard accommodation, but average restaurant. Not luxurious, but comfortable and very good value for money.
“Not a 4-star hotel!”
This is not a 4-star hotel, particularly if you are from the US. It is generally run-down. Service is really awful, front desk rude, had to ask multiple times for towels, etc. Rooms are very tiny which would be OK, but the walls are paper thin. We could hear people coughing and talking (every word they were saying) in the next room. The shower is the smallest I have ever seen. Mold in the showe, leaks all over the place. Rather uncomfortable to say the least. Bed uncomfortable as well. Would not recommend to anyone. Service bad - attempted to fix several issues with front desk to no avail. Spoke with manager who was also extremely rude. Location is nice but there are other options!!!!
“Best hotel to visit Alhambra palace”
The hotel location is the best thing about it, just across the road from Alhambra palace. Also you can walk down to the old city , takes 10 minutes walking. There is a bus which goes there also every 10 minutes from the Alhambra. whe we initially arrived by car we had trouble to find the hotel , the road ends at entrance of Alhambra car park, so we had to ask people and one man helped us and he drove his car and we followed him through difficult way for around 10 minutes before we arrive to the hotel entrance. He asked for 20 Euro for his help! We then realised that we could actually go into the Alhambra car parking directly and park our car there and then walk for two minutes to the hotel enterance. The hotel reception is good , they speak english . The rooms are very small. They gave us a room with twin bed though we asked for a double bed, toilet is clean. Breakfast was good also. The Alhambra palace is only across the road and the old city is just 10 minutes walk.
“Not the best, but okay.”
The location is good, right across from the AlHambra. It was a long, steep hike from the city up to the hotel. We highly recommend the use of the bus. But definitely walk down if you are able. It is a beautiful walk. If you are going to see the AlHambra, definitely buy your tickets in advance or be prepared to be in line at 6:30 a.m. the day you want to visit. Even in August, the low season, it was a very, very long lines and we ended up with afternoon tickets and were rushed through the palace area, never seeing it all.
