“Very impressed”
Lovely hotel, previously a convent so lots of atmosphere and quietness. Free mini bar which was really uselful. Near to all historical sights as on the main city road.Would recommend the airport bus as it stops and picks up near the hotel, making life easy. Hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful.
“A haven of peace in a busy city”
The hotel was centrally positioned, the restaurant was beautifully presented,we were able to eat outside under the arches of the cloisters. The food was excellent although the breakfasts were expensive with only 1 price[21.50 euros], regardless of what you had. the staff were helpful and the receptionists multi lingual.
“Granada- a n ideal central location”
The Ac Palacio de Santa Paula is situated right in the heart of Granada on Grand Via de Colon. It is a five star hotel developed from an old convent. The hotel is very comfortable as one would expect from the price tag and the best thing is the location right in the heart of Granada so you can walk everywhere to shops and sights. The breakfast was superb especially the pastries but too expensive at 21 Euros each. We had breakfast once for the experience and then used the excellent cafes nearby for a breakfast for only a few Euros- the cafes are open even on Sunday which was a bonus. We did not try the restaurant as it was very quiet and there are numerous excellent restaurants nearby.
“Best hotel atmosphere”
This is a gorgeous spot in a laidback city. We were upgraded from a standard room to a superior (no reason given) and the room overlooked the lovely cloistered area in the old part. We really did relax and sat around in the courtyard for hours at a time in peace and quiet. The gym is small and very underused but we didn't try it out ourselves. The restaurant was small and only half full most of the time. We ate there once and it was superb, especially the strawberry soup! We didn't have breakfast there as the spanish eat late so didn't want spend 21euro each in the morning. The hotel arranged a trip to the Alhambra, although expensive it was hassle-free as it included transport, guide and entry tickets.
“Stunningly Beautiful Hotel”
A truly beautiful hotel in a fantastic central location. The staff were professional and efficient, yet extremely friendly and helpful at the same time. The attention to detail in the hotel's design and little extra's provided really made it special. Despite the hotel being located on on of the main streets, our room (A superior room overlooking one of the internal courtyards) was beautifully serene and peaceful... a fantastic relaxing, luxurious location with a beautiful atmosphere. We would love to stay again!
“Ideal for city centre”
Pleasant hotel in centre of Granada with immediate access at front door to the number 32 bus service to the Alhambra (just over a euro each way). If travelling by car it's important to know that the "no access" signs contain the wording "except to hotels", so you can drive right to the front door where there's a little lay-by to draw in and unload. The valet will park your car (fee) and return it when it's time to leave. The minibar has no pricing - because it's complimentary!
“Impressive hotel”
Stayed at this hotel during July for a week long stay. It is located fantastic location, within walking distances of many interesting places and squares. The restaurant is pricey for what it is worth, but none the less very good service. Having a free minibar also makes for nice touch. There is no iron and kettle in the room so ordering tea and getting your clothes ironed can turn out to be expensive. The rooms are chic and modern with very good air-con during those hotel summer days. I would recommend this hotel if you have some money to spend and would like easy walking/bus rides to places.
“Lovely place - if you can get there!!”
The road system is a nightmare for access, but once there the position is very good, the hotel is of good quality and the food was excellent.
“Acceptable”
Very clean, comfortable hotel and very handy for the old town and the Alhambra, bus stop outside, but not out of the ordinary. I would have thought four star would be more appropriate. The complimentary mini-bar is a bit of a con - no wine, no spirits, just a couple of bottles of beer, water and soft drinks
“Three sleepless nights in Granada”
Good: Great service. Very clean. Convenient location. Good restaurant. Bad: Overlooking a very noisy main road. The room was hot then cold then hot and we couldn't open the window because of the traffic noise. Criminally expensive breakfast; really, you would be shocked! The bathroom door in all the rooms is made of glass and therefore offers very little in the way of soundproofing. Now you may call me a bit of a princess but the last thing I want to listen to in the morning after paying through the nose for breakfast is my wife taking a big dump.
