“Very Good would reccomend to all”

Very good hotel would definitely stay again. Had issues with the air conditioning as it seemed to be very hot or very cold no in between but still nice. Very little on the television and if you want it in english you have to search for the channels. Nice pool the only downside is that the sun went down behind the hotel before 5pm but that would have to do with the time of year we went. No Ala Carte restaurant on site which was dissapointing but very nice buffet breakfast. Not much in the are but still a very nice place

Area recommendations
Masapalomas is just over the hills and is very nice worth the walk and Las Palmas is very nice as well

“Decent apart-hotel in quiet location”

The Marinasol is located in a quiet area next to Saint Augustin. The rooms are a good size and quite comfortable, however, they were not cleaned every day which we found a bit frustrating. The sea views from the balcony however are very good. There is not much night life around the area although there is an excellent restaurant located next to the beach that serves great food. Avoid the German restaurant next to the hotel as it is overpriced and the service is poor. Overall a good place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing break.

Traveller's tip
Visit the dunes at Maspalomas as the views and the beach are the best on Gran Canaria.

“A most enjoyable week”

The accomodation for the majority of guests is a large living room with a balcony for sitting and eating and a well-fitted kitchen at the other end. There was a separate bedroom and a superb shower room. The sofa looked as though it was converible. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. There is a supermarket opposite and a few eating places within a few metres, though the only one we could vouch for was the excellent Acapulco run by an Austrian family. There are two pedestrian routes into the centre of San Agustan which is a couple of kilometres away and has a nice sandy beach. It is very quiet, not much to do on the doorstep, which is to our liking. Having a hire car, we were able to enjoy the sites of the island, though the bus services are said to be good. Most enjoyable days were in Playa del Mogan and Palmitos Park. The interior of Gran Canaria has dramatic scenery not to be missed. Our only included meal and the only let-down was breakfast which was adequate but not wildly enjoyable.

Traveller's tip
We had a lot of problems finding fresh meat, fish and veg - it was only at the end of our week that we discovered two hypermarkets whose only signposting was from the motorway back to the airport!

“Quiet but perfectly formed”

This hotel is actually in Playa Aguila on the coast bus route and you can catch a 66 to/from the airport (though it is always late). It was very quiet in the area being mainly residential spanish/german holiday homes and February. Any qualms about that were soon squashed once we'd gone to 'the dunes' and walked 6 abreast around the shoreline (and this was February!). The small beach within 5 minutes walk was pebbles when the tide was up but the seabed is sandy, the sea was warmish, the sun trapped in the small cove, few people...heaven! 20 minutes walk is Playa San Augustin which is a big sandy, ice-creamish and foody place but relatively quiet and refined. The hotel was fabulous - almost all rooms have sea view and the kichenette was Ok even for simple evening meals. Since everyone mentioned it - the breakfast was OK/good but the coffee was worse than 1960's English B&Bs and the tea seemed to be only 'infusions of weeds'.

Traveller's tip
We did not feel up to figuring the local bus system out - to go inland from this hotel would mean at least one change and also we might be stranded in one of the mountain villages by missing the last bus. Car Hire is not so expensive and possibly better than buses when you don't speak Spanish and are only there for a week. We did go to Las Palmas - the old part is rather nice. The nearby supermarket and The Drop Inn down from the hotel were both very good/friendly.

Få spisesteder i nærheten.

“Hotel adatto a soggiorni famigliari”

“Aparthotel Marinasol Gran Canaria Sant Agustin”
