“Great Location and Good Value”
Only 5 minutes from the Nils Ericson Bus terminal (where the airport bus drops you) and Central Station. For my friends and I who had tickets to see IFK Gothenburg play, it was ideal as it was virtually next door to the stadium! With regard to the facilities, there was a good selection for the breakfast, which was regularly topped up. However, whilst we stayed there was an issue with the spa so were unable to take in the rooftop view of Gothenburg from the spa. Also, we encountered some issues with the bar, in that it wasn't open after 10pm, but we could buy beer from the reception.(?)
“Convenient hotel but expensive”
Overall it was a good experience - but - the breakfast buffet is really poor for this expensive establishment - the rooms could use better furniture - room heating works in mysterious ways - as in spite of reporting it to the reception, my room remained rather cold - the 'view' from the roof top pool is the roof of equally high building - so there is no view on the harbour or anything as such On the positive side, reception staff is polite and efficient - I wont say friendly. Last it is in a good location if all you want to do is shop and jump on the train/tram during your visit, otherwise if you want to enjoy the canal view or more busy cafe areas, then look further from the central station.
“not overly impressed”
I found this hotel to be just about 'OK'. I arrived fairly late in the evening at this hotel, having booked and paid for a family room, however, I was given a twin betted room which quite frankly was shabby at best. When I complained to reception they said that this was the only room available but they would try to change it the following day, the reception staff said there was nothing they could do. When I asked to speak to someone who could do something about it, this evening, miraculously a family room became available. Having said that, the family room I was moved to did not look as if it had been cleaned properly. The mirror had all shower splashes over it, the toilet didn't look clean, the window was broken with the broken wood just left on by the window. Considering the room was supposed to accomodate three people there was one rather small wardrobe with about 6 hangers and absolutely no-where else to store clothing. I was there for a week and my husband was joining me for a long weekend so for 2 of us the space was extremely limited. Additionally, the duvet was not changed all week. I appreciate this is an eco hotel but given how hot it was in the rooms at night this was needed. There did appear to be an airconditioning unit in the room and a control but this did not work, therefore the room got very hot and stuffy. On the positive side, it is in a fairly central location with not too much street noise and the breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice.
“Scandic Crown”
