“Scandanavian gem in Gotenborg”

Sleek, Scandanavian design hotel in the middle of the center city. Contemporary, stylish rooms with much attention to detail, and surrounded by modern art in the hallways. Friendly, helpful staff. Great location in the middle of the center city, with boutique shops and great restaurants all around. 3rd stop on airport bus drops you off on the other side of the plaza, and there's a pretty little park that runs along the river just a block away. Avalon's the perfect base for exploring Gotenborg.

Area recommendations

Center city is a great location, and key sites are easy walking distance from the hotel. Ferrys are 4-5 blocks away, if you want to visit the archipelagos. Great little shops in the center city, as well as in the older part of town - Haga.

Dining

Two fantastic restaurants for those who appreciate fine food: Magnus & Magnus (M2) and Swedish Taste. Delicious, creative Swedish cooking and exceptional service at both. The Bee (across from the Avalon hotel) as great traditional Swedish food, including Swedish meatballs.

“Great hotel”

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was a good size, the bed was extremely comfortable, the location was ideal and the staff were great. I would definitely recommend the hotel and gladly stay there again.

Area recommendations

The whole city is easily walked in a day and all areas have interesting architecture.

“great hotel”

enjoyed a 4 day break at Avalon .Friendly helpful staff Funky art work in corridors Trendy bathrooms comfortable beds Lovely quality bedding Best of all is the roof top sun terrace with the infinity pool which has a glass bottom which overhangs the edge of the building so you look down 6 levels to the street! only criticism was the failure to top up the rooms tea and coffee and rooms not cleaned til late in the afternoon .I do feel this is a minor grump and would not stop me going back at the first chance .

“Man kann fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen”

Trotz absolut zentraler Lage sehr leise. Gutes Frühstücksbuffet. Badezimmer etwas muffelig, da Türe automatisch schließt.

“Ci torneò ogni volta che sarò a Goteborg”

ottimo hotel per confort, design, servizi e posizione. Il ristorante dell' hotel è di eccellente qualità ed è molto divertente l'aperitivo e il dopo cena nel bar del hotel in quanto frequentatissimo da givani di goteborg. Assolutamente da provare!!
