Chichester itself is a beautiful town, and well worth a visit in it's own right - plus all the worthwhile places to visit in the surrounding areas. But we went to see "Guys and Dolls" at the Festival Theatre - mindblowing!!!!
We offer six rooms each having a unique charm and character together with a warm and cosy feel making for a pleasurable stay …More
Greeted with fresh home made cake and made very welcome. Only two rooms let here so quiet and private but with more than adequate facilities. Super breakfast with personal attention. Absolutely no negatives and would stay again without question.
Welcomed by the wonderfully friendly owner after arriving late on Sunday night just in time for last orders at the bar. The room was in a separate building behind the pub separated by a beer garden. Room was excellent; clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. At breakfast was welcomed by friendly owner again and enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
This was the best stay of our trip to southwest England. Located in the countryside just north of Chichester this 200 year old building offered the quintessential English inn experience. The staff were exceptional - cheerfully mannered Tom and Samantha ensured this. The restaurant provided great food and Tom's selection of local ales was well rounded and interesting. Check out the Black Four Two from Downlands if there's a cask on tap. There's a comfy lounge in the bar area with nice leather sofas making it real easy to spend an afternoon. The rooms are very modern renovations in the original barns behind the main building. Our loft room gave us a great view of the neighbours' farmstead and horses. There is a public access walking path through the fields and woodland across the road where we spotted many pheasants.
Booked this hotel as able to accept three adults in a room ( taking Daughter to university).
no third bed in room on arrival and condition of third bed meant we put the mattress on the floor, as frightened the frame would give way.
Bathroom modern and clean - no toiletries other than shampoo pump on the wall of shower ( so take your own)
Obviously doing a lot of work to upgrade, decorate the hotel so some decor understandable but does look sad and in need of new furniture in the restaurant.
Had an evening meal in the pub which was lovely and freshly prepared, and breakfast had plenty to choose from and a help yourself to whatever you want. The only down side of breakfast on a Sunday morning was it did not open until 09.00, would have prefered that to have been earlier as would have other travellers from reactions gleamed.
