Hotel was close enough to centre that it could be easily walked, but far enough away that there was no noise in the evening . Staff were helpful and polite and made you feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.
A fairly typical British seaside B&B. not terrible but not exactly great either. The rooms were a little tired and dated and we had the central heating boiler running just outside our room all night which was far from quiet. Electric en-suite shower lacks any real pressure too :-( The owners have a dog that you could hear but not see. Free wifi is nice and the breakfast was fantastic (loved the organic sausages!). Acceptable overall but not amazing.
In a quiet position near the beach and town, this comfortable, clean guesthouse offers relaxed hospitality and wonderful …More
I got a phone call from the owner to confirm my arrival time so she can give me a warm welcome although I arrived like 11pm at night( some hotels just wont let me check in after 7pm). There's some parking space at the front and the rear. The hotel was next to the sea so nice view reminds me of my teenager's life going to the cinema watching movies. The place was easy to find and there's a good internet connection, faster than a lot of private hotels.
the shower might be the only downside of it, it's a little bit weak, and the water just not strong enough. this hotel must be full in the summer as it has that nice superb view of the pier.
My wife and I stayed here for four nights in August 2014. We were met by the propriortress, Trish, who helped us with our luggage up to our room on the second floor. The room had a lovely view onto the the esplanade and over the bay to Torquay, and a view of Paignton harbour to the right. I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone, with just one caveat, and that is for anyone with walking or climbing stairs problems, they should ask for a room no higher than the first floor. After eating your excellent breakfast in the basement dining room it can be a struggle to climb up to the second floor. The whole family, Trish, Alan and their children, looked after everyone enthusiastically and with genuine care. It is no surprise to learn that they get many repeat bookings, and we to hope to be able to return again some day soon.
