This was my best Marriott stay to date! Yes, I have had more elegant ones, but none with staff as great as this hotel. I used to work for Marriott and know the customer service required to be a part of the quality chain, however, these employees outperformed all other Marriott Hotels in the past. After I got my Son from the orphanage, I asked if I could get another water per day and they made sure I had plenty my entire stay. On our last day the staff packed up a lunch bag for both of us to take on the plane and wished us well. This is after they greeted me each morning remembering what beverage I had in the morning, whisked away empty plates, brought us anything we may have ordered from the buffet custom made. They answered my Son's myriad of questions he had and brought him his special plates and cup each morning. They showed him how to work the register and gave him the duplicate tape and showed him how it worked. Everyone was very pleasant and showed great care and patience with a very scared little boy and his new Mommy.
This is the 2nd time I stay at this hotel within the last 6 months. The staff is friendly. My room was smaller than the previous time but the the bathroom was modern and very spacious, and everything was clean.
Breakfast is limited in western choice but there is the usual coffee/toasts/butter/eggs/bacon.
The hotel is located in Wulin Square which is not too far from West Lake, but the hotel surroundings have nothing interesting and there is a lot of construction work at the moment.
All in all, the hotel is a good value for money, with fairly modern and clean rooms. It is fairly central despite the fact that there is nothing to do or visit within a 10 min walking distance range.
