Close to everything

Posted 19-Jul-2014
Pros: Pool area.
Cons: Lots of cracked concrete sidewalks.
Location: Great location. Close to many restaurants.
Nice property for its age. Room was updated, clean and smelled fresh. Bed was very comfortable and sufficient pillows were provided. A little noisy due to my rooms location at bottom of stairwell but not unreasonable. Very nice pool, hot tub and slide. Decent value for dollars spent.

Not Clean

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Pros: Staff was nice, close to the highway, rate was good.
Cons: fix things mentioned in my experience stated above.
Hair in tub, on bathroom floor, inside of drain plug moldy and dirty, dirty face cloth left on floor under sink, cheerios on bathroom floor and in/around beds, hair on night stand, phone didn't connect to operator on second night we stayed, no cartoon channel for kids, pool had no shallow end so my 2 & 4 year old could only sit on the steps as the hot tub was too hot for them, no area for kids to play such as a park only a dirty slide surrounded by weeds and pokey grass, fridge was not cool.

Do not recommend it!

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: Not much!
Location: Nothing to do near by.Went for a walk.
This hotel fell short of our expectations, for several reasons.#1-The Travelodge in our city is much newer, and cleaner. We found this one to be very outdated, and not that clean.#2-There was never anyone at the front desk! What hotel leaves their front desk unattended for up to 10 mintes at a time.A tour group came in,while I was standind there waiting for 5 minutes already, dinging on the belland he(tour operater),and I went looking everywhere for some kind of front desk personelle, calling out.Not acceptable. #3-We had a couple next door, fighting right outsideour room,on the balconey,so turned on the air conditioner to block them out,and woke up with a headache, because it was so loud and noisy.Would not have stayed on on the return trip, but we had prepaid.Return trip was better, but would not stay here again..

Good for what we needed

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: spacious, great staff, big ice maker, fire pit area, waterslide
Cons: a/c in some rooms, breakfast!!!!
Location: Good location for travellers, but also well worth going into Golden. The pedestrian bridge is beautiful and the downtown is worth walking around.
spacious, a/c worked better in one room than another, hotel staff were extremely accommodating, breakfast room and breakfast was a HUGE letdown -- way too many people vs food or juice or coffee --

Good Overnight Spot

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: Accomindated a pet though it was not stated on the reservation plus the hotel did not charge for it.
Cons: Poor "breakfast" service setup. Pool "OK".
Location: Location is loser to gas statuions and fast food.
Decent place to put your head down overnight when traveliing through, would not recommend it for staying a long period of time.

Good pit stop on the way East....waterslide fun.

Posted 06-Jul-2014
Pros: Expedia
Cons: Modernize the rooms...a few more eating options for breakfast would be nice.
Location: Golden is a great stop if you are into skiing or hiking. We drove ino the downtown area and enjoyed the city park.
Young kids loved the waterslide, pool and hot tub. Having a few life jackets on hand was a nice touch. I liked the free breakfast...wife wished they had yogurt and bagels. Room was a bit on the old side except for flat screen tv. Liked the mini fridge and microwave.

Nothing special but decent for the price.

Posted 03-Jul-2014
Cons: The reception area needs a facelift.
A pretty standard economy class hotel. The reception area could stand to have some improvements done and the rooms aren't anything spectacular. If you are looking for a place to sleep at a decent price this would be a good choice but don't expect a 5 star hotel by any means. The continental breakfast was nice with good variety. Our party never used the pool, slide or hot tub but they looked decent when I was checking out the hotel.

Pros: Clean friendly
Cons: Nothing
Location: Who cared
Traveled from Edmonton, Alberta to Golden, BC. Arrived tired & weary. Check in went smoothly and we were happy with the room assigned to us.
