Posted 30-Jul-2015
Vee basic hotel, clean. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. Close to restaurants. Good to just to sleep.

For me great, but not for 'Princesses'.

Pros: Location, price, lack of frills
Cons: The decor and some of the appliances. Maybe the stability of the deck walkways (safe but squeaked and swayed when people walked on them)
Location: Cinema, White Water Rafting, Trail Riding, Hiking, Touring, Skiing (I presume in Winter?).
The Motel is clean, well run and in an excellent location close to the main amenities in the center of Golden on one side of the river: supermarket, gas station, cinema, multiple restaurants, Liquor Store and Thrift store (forget to bring a book? Need another Pan?) were all within 100m. There was plenty of parking and the complimentary Wi-Fi was surprisingly good. The room was clean - if some of the internal items such as chairs, fridge/freezer, and AirCo unit were a little dated - but everything was functional and the few chips in the bath enamel had been repaired as to be sanitary if not elegant. The view from the upper balconies of the sunset over the mountains was amazing and I understood why other guests sat outside chatting sipping the odd glass of something I was perfectly happy with my stay of a couple of nights at 3-4 week's notice in the height of season. After rain, rain and more rain in my tent I considered checking in for an extra night at the end of my time in the area; they were full - which did not surprise me. The flyers in the office saved my $20 on the photos for the White Water Rafting trip.

Rondo Motel

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Pros: Nothing - it was old, not updated and creepy
Cons: Clean it up and get new bedspreads
Disappoint to see a motel in this day and age that is so old and not updated. It was a "cheaper" place to stay as we were only driving through Golden. It is way out of the way, so good thing we had a GPS to lead us there. I will not recommend that place for anyone.

One Night Stop Over

Posted 18-Jul-2015
We couldn't find a hotel in Banff so we decided to stay at the Rondo and go from there. The room was fine for a one night stay. It was an average room but it was clean and we got a good night sleep.

overnight stay en route to our holiday destination

Posted 07-Jul-2015
Pros: cheap, clean, tidy and comfortable.
Cons: more pillows! Most places seem to only give you one per person. Luckily, we had our own with us.
Location: N/A. We stayed overnight only, on our way to our destination. Beautiful views.
clean, tidy and comfortable. Very adequate for our needs. Nice choice of local places to eat.

Tired, passably clean, and close to town.

Posted 06-Jul-2015
Pros: Convenient access to town.
Cons: The rooms could use a thorough scrubbing: walls, the little nooks in the corners of the bathroom, etc.
Location: Close to grocery store etc.
My stay was entirely mediocre. The staff were reasonably pleasant, the room was clean enough where it mattered, and everything was tolerable. I wouldn't exactly look forward to staying here again, but I wouldn't dread it either.

good motel

Posted 05-Jul-2015
just like other motels, there's spacious room, microwave, fridge, kettle instead of coffee maker, which I like very much. Wifi REALLY BAD, had to stay out of the room to get the weak signal, no way to get on internet inside.

Fooled by the 3.5/5 review ratings

Posted 05-Jul-2015
I don't know why this motel has a review rating this high. If you have fond memories of the 70's, then you might like this motel except for the price. Be prepared to bring your own shampoo, soap, coffee maker, hair dryer, and clothes iron. Also leave your wifi electronics at home because the wifi may not reach your room. The only way we could access wifi was to sit outside of the motel office. The beds weren't comfortable either. On a positive note, the motel is nicely located in the downtown area and the rooms were kept relatively clean. The staff do the best with what they have. If your plans are to stay in this motel for more than one night, please consider other places.

Old but well maintained and clean. Great location.

Posted 29-Jun-2015
No hot water the morning I left. These things happen. Otherwise, clean, well maintained, close to good restaurants and bars.
