Pros: Scenery is beautiful
Cons: Install air conditioners
Location: Parks
No air conditioning. No remote control. No fan. No room service. Very minimal staff. Do not stay here in the summer.

Pros: If we had come in the winter it would have been beautiful.
We entered the front desk and it was so busy. The lady was trying to answer the phone, another person was talking, the walkie takie was very loud. We could hear all the problems of the day. The person attending to us could not give us her attention as there was too much going on. Nothing around was open and only one restaurant was available.

Very Nice

Posted 08-Jul-2015
Nice, easy going staff. Very clean and new. Great parking and security. Right on the ski hill. The room was a bit scrunchy but we just got back from Europe and had some recent experience with that and it didn't bother us.

Like the hotel in "The Shining"

Posted 16-Jun-2015
We booked this lodge for a June getaway thinking it would be a nice place to relax, hike and enjoy the restaurants/pubs beside lodge. We couldn't have been more wrong... Arrived after work on a Friday night to an eerily desolate lodge...dimly lit lobby and closed check-in desk with an envelope addressed to us containing key cards. There was only one person in sight, a caretaker standing off in the distance, informing us the elevator would "shutdown at 10pm until 8am" (hence "The Shining" reference). Creepily silent and empty hallways...guest room was VERY SMALL. Microwave/kitchen bit are right beside the bed (i.e. your face is 1 foot away from bar fridge). Yellow toilet water, stained bedsheets, sink that wouldn't drain...and Kicking Horse restaurants, pub and grocery store all closed, and gondola (for hiking route access) closed at 3pm. We had to drive down the mountain to Golden for evening meal: 14.5km of unlit, windy road across a single vehicle wooden bridge (not as close as you think!!) . Only saw 3 other guests for the one night we stayed. Checked out one day early and requested a full refund successfully. Ugh. Don't go!!

Super peaceful during off season and very relaxing

Posted 04-May-2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable, relaxing
Location: About 10 minutes away from Golden downtown
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night during off season and it was very peaceful and quiet. Our room was upgraded from a Queen room to a King room as it was a quiet night and the staff were very friendly. We were able to use the outdoor hot tub in private as there were very few guests and it was so pleasant! The facilities are very clean and our room was extremely comfortable and clean as well. We had a gorgeous mountain view and I wish we had stayed longer. I would definitely revisit them again in the future!
