Breakfast facilities are disappointing

Posted 07-Sep-2014
Cons: Whole experience could be improved.
Location: Great restaurant in nearby downtown.
The breakfast facilities are very minimal and the selection of breakfast options is poor and of low quality.

The room check in was fine, the room average.

Pros: We were also disappointed in the morning at the continental breakfast. There were a few muffins and no where to sit.
Cons: More choices for breakfast and a place to sit.
We just settled in to our room after a long day of travel. Outside our room we heard a few people talking loudly. Then starting at around 1:30am to 3:30am we had loud partying and since the staircase was by our door, we could hear also the running up and down the stairs. We think the party was in the room directly above us. We have no idea how the staff had no idea this was going on because it was LOUD.

Nice Hotel but Overpriced

Posted 03-Sep-2014
Pros: The clerk was awesome.
Cons: Extra blanket in the room, seating for continental breakfast.
Location: Its a scenic drive down to Radium Hotsprings. In addition, Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park is very nice - good hiking and a restaurant.
Room was clean, large and attractive. Definitely get a room on the second floor because they have wood beams on the ceiling. Breakfast is a tiny room where four people is a crowd. It was a bare minimum continental. The drinks were excessively watered down. The hot tub was closed and this was really disappointing after spending a long day on a motorbike. The bed covers appear to be coated in Teflon and we had to repeatedly pull them up throughout the night. An extra blanket that doesn't slide off would have been very much appreciated. The clerk was excellent. She asked new people as they entered if they had a reservation since they were booked up. Nice not to keep you waiting. She was able to recommend a really nice restaurant nearby (Wolf's Den) which met our request of good food with beer on tap. She also recommended a nice side jaunt off to Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park which was really worth the drive. After staying at places where the staff didn't even know the number of a taxi service, she was a real gem. We would seek more reasonably priced accommodation on our next trip but would be happy to stay here if that was all that was available.

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Pros: Location.
Cons: They could invest in maintenance.
We've stayed at several Econo Lodges over many years and have always appreciated the value they gave us. This motel was different. The bathroom door squeaked loudly for lack of oil. The two door keycards wouldn't work, but if it was timed right, access was possible. The shower temperature fluctuated considerably. No bathmat. We couldn't connect to the Internet, period. The room had a faint odour. The continental breakfast was fruit and cereal, with no place to sit down to eat it.

Nice hotel located close to restaurants and grocer

It was a very nice hotel room. The hostess was very friendly and held the room for us since we had care troubles and arrived late.

Not very economical.

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Easy to find on main street. However, this also made it a bit noisy with the morning traffic.
Cons: Breakfast room needs to be monitored and items refilled timely. Staff shouldn't get huffy with customers who ask for what they pay for.
While the room was clean and basic and what we expected - 2 queen beds - the continental breakfast was very disappointing. The breakfast room was not identified as such so we walked right past it and had to ask for directions. It was only a small room - no tables to sit at, and got crowded quickly. People had to wait outside till someone inside left. The breakfast was advertised 7-9 and when we got there at 8, there was no coffee, only a few muffins and no milk for cereal. When we told the attendant, she got huffy with my husband. Had to make three trips to take everything back to our room. We paid over $150 for one night so I don't think I would class this as an economical motel.

Beyond needing updating.

Posted 24-Aug-2014
The front desk staff was nice. But the first impression was an abandoned Jeep in the parking lot. Then rickety old stairs. The horrible carpeted walkway. Then finally our room. Seriously in need of updating. It was a nice size and has potential. But a lot of work is needed. I will never stay here again!

Bad experience

Not easy to find, our GPS could not show where it is. Not close to any facility. Water suddenly turns hot and cold, terrible to take show there. Everything is old.

Quiet and comfortable.

Short stay. Place to sleep. Just passing thru. Enjoyed the spacious bathroom area with separated facilities.

Clean room but amenities lacking

Posted 15-Aug-2014
First if you advertise free wifi, make sure it is available to all your rooms, not just the ones near the office. Also, if you say you offer a continental breakfast, i would not expect to line up for food ouside a closet to balance my food (bowls of ceral and all) all the way back to my room. Everyone waiting in line though this was laughable at best to not have somewhere to sit and enjoy a breakfast without running back and forrth to the storage closet. On the plus side the rooms were clean and quiet and the air conditioning worked
