“Great service but no beach.”
Best service ever from any resort. Made us feel like royalty, took care of both of us with bad colds, sending a plate of chocolates to the room with "Get Well" and making us special teas at meals. Always asking what they could do for us and always there to solve problems before we even asked for help. Unfortunately, beach is no more. made up for somewhat by the magnificent pool with swim up bar and unparalleled service all around the pool. We could only use one of the 3 restaurants. One was always reserved for private functions and the Thai was too spicy for our taste. The Caravela was adequate but not spectacular - but it did provide excellent personalized service. despite the beach problem, I'd recommend this resort highly.
“relaxing retreat”
Secure, lush green hotel. It feels private and relaxed with the rooms spread out in holiday cottages rather than one big hotel block. We were there on honeymoon and they made an effort to put fresh flowers in the room and a 'congratulations' chocolate cake. Well tended grounds. Only one pool but we never had a problem getting a lounger or a parasol. (Could be because its was the start of the season). Pleasant and helpful staff. Good range of food on the menus. Although it was significantly more expensive eating and drinking in the hotel than in the surrounding area, but that is to be expected for a five star hotel. The beach close to the hotel has been seriously damaged with erosion and isn't much to look at all. However, the pool made up for it and other beaches are not too far away.
“Excellent place to stay if you are looking for Peace or time for yorself”
Taj Village really gives you a feel of a village... slience, narrow streets, low lights on walkways.. beauitful place to spend time with your self and family ... if you are in village you do not have to go anywhere else.. you can play cricket, golf, swim, lay at "Quite zone" over viewing sea... have a private beach... and long walk with sea on one side and trees on the other... Staff are excellent and helpful....
“Nice but not 5-star”
Hotel was nice but not 5-star. Intercontinental in South Goa is much nicer but is very far from everything. Beach was dirty - many cigarette butts, empty water bottles. Rusting oil tanker is sitting just off shore for 10+ years and is slowly leaking oil into the water and onto the beach. Hotel restaurant on the beach has good food though. Pool is small. Also, I was expecting the water to be much clearer (like the Mediterranean or Caribbean). Water was not clear at all. Overall the hotel was nice, but town of Goa and sea do not live up to the hype. I would not go back to Goa.
“Superb Property, Excellent Service, Very Impressive”
very comfortable and enjoyable stay. very clean rooms and well maintained property. combined facilities of both Taj properties gives a wide choice of restaurants and activities. overall a thumbs up.
“Relaxing break”
After much of the hustle and bustle of India the Taj Village Goa represented a professionally run, helpful and comfortable place to as we Aussies say " veg out."
“Good hotel but dirty communal areas and terrible beach”
The hotel is a good 5* one, maybe a bit overpriced. The common areas are not very clean (the poor staff does not have the appropriate tools to clean...) but according to the Indian standards is understandable... The beach is just a no-go. Like having no beach....It looked like a huge dustbin. According to the receptionist, 'it was due to the monzoon'...I wonder why they couldnt send somebody to clean up a bit... Otherwise, we enjoyed a lot our 4 nights spent there!
“a good pllace to stay”
The Taj Holiday Village is set in lovely and well maintained grounds which are a delight. The restaurants are high quality and there is good wine and at reasonable prices, we enjoyed ourselves very much indeed
“one of the best hotels out there”
Excellent place... i feel like i gained many years by staying at this resort.
