“A great stay .....will be back”

Stayed here for 2 nights and were very pleased by the welcome we received. Room fine but perhaps it needs a chair or two. Altough only a couple we were given a family room so plenty of space. We had dinner on our first evening, food superb and staff very friendly and attentive, breakfast very good too. Would definately go back when next in the area.

“Great hotel in the middle of a refurb”

Downstairs has been recently renovated and looks stunning. Upstairs is in the process of being renovated... shower room looked great - bedroom and hallways hadnt been done yet (tired, but clean and acceptable). When the makeover is complete it will look brilliant. Ate in restaurant both nights because the food was so good. Hotel staff were warm and friendly - some of the best service we've encountered anywhere. Little bit of sawing and decorating noise during our stay but nothing that bothered us.

The hotel is situated in a lovely Cotswold village, our room overlooked the front and had lovely views of the yew trees in the churchyard. Downstairs the bar and restaurant area has been refurbished in a boutique style and is very tasteful, the rest of the hotel is apparently having the same work done.The outside is due to be painted now. Our room on the 2 nd floor was nice but the fittings were rather dated as was the bathroom, but perfectly fine. Food was excellent and we really enjoyed our visit and hope to return.

Very friendly staff, nice rooms, good service, very quiet, good breakfast. Will definitely stay there again on our next visit.

“Excellent place for a weekend in the Cotswolds”

Excellent place for a long weekend, which was our 1st Anniversary as well. Beautiful location - there has been an inn at this location since the 16th Century, though the creature comforts have improved a touch since then. Cosy, comfortable and great, friendly service. The pub/ restaurant downstairs is exceptional and though there are apparently a couple of other excellent restaurants in Painswick, we never managed to get out the door to eat a meal anywhere else! Highly recommended and we intend to be back.

“Perfect inn for anyone!”

We were a little surprised when on arrival we were given our key and told our room was on the top floor, rather than shown to the room. However this is the only negative we could give about our treatment at the Falcon. The rest of the staff were friendly, welcoming and could not have been more helpful. Room 3 was spotlessly clean and newly and tastefully decorated. It was really pretty and had a lovely view over the churchyard. The water pressure in the bathroom was quite weak and the toilet cistern took ages to fill when flushed. We ate here both nights and the food was absolutely delicious, especially the fillet steak. There was a friendly atmosphere in the restaurant and bar which were both filled with visitors and locals. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and was served in such a friendly manner. We would gladly come here again.

Lovely refurbished inn in the heart of this lovely Cotswold village. Warm welcome, well furnished comfortable room and great food in the restaurant.

A lovely job has been made of converting this hotel, very sympathetic Painswick is a lovely place to stay The room we stayed in would benefit from some further updating The evening meal was very good and the breakfast outstanding I would be very happy to stay here again

“Ideal Stop Over”

Character inn well placed and not too far from the motorway network for a one night stop to break up a long journey. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast the following morning

I had a lovely stay here, The staff were really welcoming and friendly and helpful throughout. The food in the hotel restaurant - breakfast and dinner - was excellent. The location is superb. The hotel overall is very nicely kept indeed. The room was very clean and I would stay again but it could do with some updating in the bathroom and furniture departments! And it would be nice not to feel a little rushed out of the room in the mornings. But overall, I would stay here again and would recommend to others.
