The fact that this is a privately owned and run hotel is obvious in the service given. I have been associated with catering for almost 60 years and rarely do I find an hotel which is difficult to fault but Fosse Manor is just such an hotel. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.
We stayed at Cowley Manor for 2 nights after our wedding and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The hotel facilities and grounds were fantastic and the food excellent, especially breakfast. I found the evening meal we had in the restaurant slightly over-priced at £118 (exc. tip) for 2 x 3 course meal plus a £26 bottle of wine but that didn't detract from the overall experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Cowley Manor to anyone who fancies a relaxing couple of days away, particularly if the weather is good which enables the hotel grounds to be enjoyed to their fullest.

We stopped here as a stopover on the way from Northumberland to Devon. I am taking the time to do this which is rare as it was excellent. Staff very attentive, breakfast lovely, facilities beautiful. I would like to go there for a full weekend.

I chose this from the internet reviews and as it was for my son's 18th celebration I was a bit apprehensive. However, it more than lived up to our expectations. We took two suites and they we both fabulous, spacious and decorated well. Each suite had a totally different character. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Before arriving they were also helpful in organizing a cake and suggestions of interesting things to do with teenagers. they thoroughly enjoyed themselves too. Thank you Thornbury Castle. We will be back.
Our room was called The Summer Pudding room. Normal hotel rooms are hard to differentiate between. This room was certainly different and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We also enjoyed the lovely log fire in the lounge. The staff were excellent - attentive but not intrusive.
