"Exquisite food and stunning surroundings"
We booked Strathblane country house hotel as we were visiting Scotland for the Commonwealth Games 2014. We arrived late in the afternoon due to attending an event before hand. When we arrived we were welcomed by lovely staff who attended to our every need. There were cleaning products outside our room which were removed straight away once we had reported them and the room was comfortable and pleasant. The surroundings of the hotel were stunningly beautiful. Breakfast was of outstanding quality and the variety on offer was superb. We also stayed at the hotel for one evening meal during our 3 day stay and was blown away with the quality of the food, a complete highlight of our trip. The staff were extemely pleasant and very helpful to us whilst in Scotland, they were very informative on places to see and go and local public transport that we could use. The only downside to our stay at Strathblane country hotel was a clash with an event they were hosting (i believe it may have been a birthday celebration or a wedding reception) music was very loud till late of a night and other guests were extremely loud throughout the evening and early hours in the morning, running up and down corridors and banging doors, staff did not address this to our knowledge and this interrupted our final nights sleep before our long drive back to the West Midlands.

"Nice people, the place is a little tired"
The staff here are wonderful, helpful, kind and terribly accommodating of any and all requests. The rooms are clean and well stocked. However, the whole hotel could do with some refurbishment, it looks very tired and rather worn. The walls are very thin between rooms, as are the doors. Any small noise, even the TV being on is very clear in the next room. The location is idyllic, it's just a shame that the infrastructure doesn't match either location or the lovely people!

"Cute hotel but disappointing staff "
Lovely room, what you would expect from a three star, with a spacious room and separate bathroom. Almost felt like you were in a house with an entrance separate and did not feel connected to other rooms or have any noise problems. The staff weren't welcoming though and almost seemed annoyed at having us but this could have been because we were there for a wedding with all the guests staying in that hotel

"Excellent location, but nothing shiny"
The main benefit is the location, as it's really close to nightlife venues, just about 10min walk is the train station from which there is also the bus from/to Airport. The rooms are quite old though so you might see some stains on the walls. What was disappointing though was the breakfast. Cereals with milk, yoghurt or bread with jam. That's it.

"stunning quality and refinement for a good price"
Just try out the shower! The bedroom was massive and despite being a boutique style hotel everything was solidly made and nothing seemed over the top. Quality and refinement were key. The bathroom was lush, the rain shower was spacious and was one of the best showers I've had in a while. I travel for a living and have been in some nice (and nasty) hotels before, but this was excellent value for money - I've paid a lot more for a lot less elsewhere. Most importantly the missus loved it and we will be returning!

"Exceptional Staff - Customer Service amazing!!"
We were a large wedding group requiring 9 rooms, the hotel was fully booked so we had to book all the available double bedrooms. I rang the hotel reception informing them of the group requirements and they were very accommodating, added the request for extra beds in some double bedrooms and cots for the babies in the group. They were just always eager to please and make you feel welcome. The hotel itself is lovely and extremely clean, the rooms are roomy and golf course view was beautiful. Nice tranquil accommodation and spa facilities were lovely and all that you needed really. I would definitely stay here again, it is a bit far out from Glasgow and not the easiest to go inbetween with public transport, we had to use taxi's most of the time to get to A to B and glasgow taxi's are no joke! The taxi from the airport to the hotel cost us £50- for a car ride of under 20 mins, please stay clear from the white taxi's outside the airport, they are truly a rip off. Try to prebook your taxi if you can, the taxi company the hotel use are a reasonable rate. Excellent stay at The Westerwood, will definitely come again, thank you very much.

"Nice hotel in downtown Glasgow"
Hotel was great. We had our 10 year old son with us and had a superior double room with a roll away bed. The room was plenty big enough for the three of us. The staff were nice and the hotel was clean and had a good boutique/funky/cool feel to it. The only complaint is the continental breakfast which costs £14pp for toast, dry cereal, coffee and a croissant. It said that there would be charcuterie and cheeses, but none were to be found. This was really expensive for what was received. The second day we walked a few blocks for a much better breakfast at 1/3 the price. Still loved th property and would recommend it to my friends.
