Pros: Close to marina
Cons: Air conditioning
Location: Not a lot
Supposedly a good hotel (Rydges?) but air conditioner sounded like we were sleeping in a plane!

Overpriced and rooms tired and not that clean

Pros: Location is central and convenient
Cons: Alarm clock in room
Location: Thai restaurant near by is ok
No alarm clock and reception never answered the phone so couldn't book a wake up call. Generally ok otherwise but room was a bit tired and not that clean.

We had a very relaxing overnight stay in Gladstone. Our room with the balcony was high enough up to appreciate the view of the water. Close to shops and cafes, so easy to take a stroll for food.

Not in a hurry to go back

On check in staff were very friendly. Hotel is a little dated. Pool area is very sterile. Breakfast was good and waitress was lovely. However after checking in on the first day and trying to have a quick nap before my husband arrived the air conditioning was extremely loud....it started quiet and then worked its way louder and louder...sounded like a plane taking off! And the room hardly got any cooler. When I went downstairs to see about getting it fixed the lady at reception told me that "the aircon is loud in all of the rooms. We can't fix it...we've tried. I could move you to another room but it will probably be the same" So we went back to the room. It was unbearable...we turned it off and opened the door but when the wind came through the open door into the aircon unit the noise was even louder. So we had to close the door and tried to sleep in a hot room in gladstone. Needless to say we got no sleep! In the morning I went down and begged to change rooms. They gave us a new room and the aircon worked fine and we had a great cool nights sleep. Such a shame they didn't listen to us to start with as I only get to spend those 2 nights with my husband in 4 weeks. Not in a hurry to head back:(

The bed was comfy and the room was in ok condition, but the Hotel overall was very tired in appearance and needs a good renovation - even a fresh coat of paint would make a difference. There was also noticable water stains on the carpet in the main hall. The service was friendly and very accomodating
